Use the right nib!
excellent ink for fountain pens. It is a wet ink, definitely only use a very fine nib. People complain about bleed through but they are using the wrong nib or too much converter pressure. I do love the variety of colors, very vibrant and easy to write with. Pairs well with the Impressa on an extra fine tip or scrievener with a fine/extra fin tip. Not good with medium or broader tips, will have significant bleed.

Very much like this ink
This is my first Iroshizuku ink and like other Pilot inks I have used you cannot go wrong with it. I knew to expect this ink to behave well but I was hesitant to purchase just based on the color on my screens. Having read that the Ajisai color is a rich blue with a slight purple hint I would have to say that is a very apt description. I find most blue inks boring since they seem to go to the less red/more navy; this one however is very nice. It has good saturation but still has some contrast; when you first look at it is is obviously blue but upon closer study you notice the very slight reddish hue; very nice. Don’t let the color of the label on the box fool you as that color is more purple than the ink really is. Writing with it so far on inexpensive paper it has very little feathering or bleeding; it starts immediately and flows nicely; I would say this is just about perfect in wetness. While I have heard some prowl say this ink is a little expensive, at the $20 point it is only slightly more expensive per ml than normal Pilot namiki refill cartridges/ which are about $5 for a 12ml pack. While it might not be as convenient as those I think the slight extra cost is worth the lovely glass bottle and the handsome color Ajisai is.

UPDATE
The glass thread on the bottle neck was partially shattered as I opened it for the first time, and so glass fell out over my desk. Not sure what's up with the quality control for the bottles they're using here, or if the cap had been screwed on ridiculously tight prior. The ink is very good quality. It flows nicely and the colour is very pleasing. Sort of between lavender and a cobalt blue. Not particularly eye catching as a colour, but a stately one that is easy to read and dries well on different papers.

High quality ink and good bottle
I am a fountain pen aficionado and came across this ink online. The ink color I purchased was named “Ajisai” (= “Hydrangea” in English). The color is just what I wanted and the ink is high-quality. However, the best thing is the bottle. There’s a little depression at the bottom of it that makes refilling the ink in your fountain pen a breeze. And the cap is easy to screw on.

Leaves me wanting more…
This ink is so pleasant in my kakuno pilot medium nib! Just a little bit of shading, nice wet ink. I want every color.

High quality inks, excellent packaging
I really love how the ink looks in the bottle and the packaging is superb. Unfortunately I'm not crazy about the ink on paper. It writes very smoothly with minimal pooling or smearing, living up to the high standard I've come to expect from Iroshizuku inks, but I deducted 1 star for the color. Ajisai just looks too similar to your standard Bic ballpoint pen for my tastes. I like my colors to standout and this blends in. Still a great color though, and I will certainly use the whole bottle over time! I also purchased Chiku-rin which I haven't tested yet, but am looking forward to trying out soon!

Beautiful color!
This ink is really nice to write with. The color is a beautiful blue-purple that looks great on the page without being too bold or too light. It flows smoothly in my pen and dries pretty quickly, so I don’t have to worry about smudging. The bottle is also well-designed and easy to use. Overall, it just makes writing feel a little more enjoyable.

Pretty Bottled version of 50rps pilot ink
This is just a cute bottled version of 50rps pilot ink - watered down, light. Its smooth but whats the use. The picgment is useless. As someone who likes to appear confident and bold, this just sends the message across that im a coward. Thats the best way to describe the watered down ink. Dissapointed.
