Q: This listing is for a 5l58. on the rubbermaid site the 5l58 looks to have a different lid release. is this picture the older model 5l55?

On the amazon site the description is “Rubbermaid dual action swing lid trash can 11.25 gallon off white bisque... the reviews I read on Amazon referenced spring top but there is nothing metal on the one I received...the can is horrible...placing a bag inside it obstructs the lid fitting on top or closing

Q: Can you lift up the whole lid without pushing the button? I have dogs who can lift the lid of my current trash can.

It would takw some work & a pet would have to lift the entire lid unit off the can. The spring loaded lip is part of a lid unit, witch fits over the top of the can. the lid lifts up from its frame when a lever is pressed down.
