Direct replacement in friends PC. Easy to fit and worked fine.

This is my fourth Seagate BarraCuda 2 TB Internal Hard Drive and I am very happy with them. The 2 Terrabyte size fits my requirements perfectly.

Does the job well

I have no idea what frustration free packaging is. But it was shipped with no protection around it. Fortunately it arrived safely and in working order. The drive wasn't pre-formatted so it didn't show up in "This PC" to begin with. After it was all set up and checked for errors it was absolutely fine and was able to restore my backup of my failed drive. I can now access all my games again. It performs well and is reasonably quiet for a mechanical drive. A word of advice..If your going to ship it without the box at least put some bubble wrap around it next time, or there's going to be a lot of broken drives being returned.

The drive is great, thoiugh it's only a 2.5" and I use 3.5" drive trays, it still goes in with no problems. I downloaded the SeaTools software for checking the serial number to register it as I didn't want to take the drive out (I was in the middle of setting it up, and I couldn't eject it without turning off the PC and I was backing up 850 GB, and I would have to turn off the PC to remove it). The SeaTools broke my PC. Blue screened it, and messed around with my BIOS so I had to reset it. Not a happy bunny !! Don't be put off though, the drive is great - really fast and easy to set up - and I have 3 other Seagate Barracudas that have been working fine for over 5 years.

It's been a long time since I built a PC from scratch, so the physical size of this drive was surprising. It's about half as thick as the old drives I was working from. I'd previously been using one terabyte drives, so having double the storage is great. It was easy to install, and the BIOS and Windows had no problem recognizing it. So far (after a week) the performance is solid, with no problems. I can hear it from time to time, but it isn't obtrusive, and it's certainly a lot quieter than my old drives.

It obviously won't be as quick as a SSD but the cost vs storage capacity made this worthwhile for me. I bought this exactly two years ago today and its been working great ever since, even when moved about from PC case to case. Simple plug and play with Sata data and power, computer should then recognise it. I've got this set up as a secondary storage drive in my PC and not used this as a boot drive for Windows but my brother has in his pc and it is noticeably slower starting up and general usage. I wouldn't recommend it for a boot drive but like I said cost-capacity might put this into the PC for most people.

Estou com o HD há uns 20 dias, mais ou menos, e ele tem sido bom e muito útil desde então, recomendo demais. Performance boa, velocidade legal - padrão Barracuda (sempre usei HDs dessa marca). Não se assuste caso ele venha em uma caixa diferente - o meu veio em uma caixa de uma fonte e eu instantaneamente pensei: "Ah não, esperei esse tempo todo pra ter que devolver!". Eu então conversei com o vendedor, ele disse pra eu checar, e realmente era o produto certo.

Installation nickel, pour l'instant, il fonctionne très bien, fait peu de bruit et il a une très bonne capacité de stockage ... rien à dire sur le produit en lui-même. Par contre, je voudrais soulever le fait que le HDD, sous blister anti statique scellé comme il se doit, a été reçu dans un simple carton, type grande enveloppe assez fine en plus, sans aucune protection genre papier bulle ni rien, ce qui, pour un non-SSD (càd avec des parties mécaniques, tête de lecture, etc ...), est vraiment super moyen, compte tenu de la délicatesse de certains employés des sociétés de transport. Là ça fonctionne mais pour le principe, merci de faire un petit effort sur le packaging de transport svp !

La marca es buena. De hecho tengo varios discos duros de la misma marca que tienen decenas de miles de horas de uso y más de 10 años y siguen funcionando sin ningún problema. Habrá que esperar que se mantenga el estándar de calidad. Llega completamente nuevo. Según el propio sistema S.M.A.R.T de la unidad; 0 horas de uso y 0 ciclos de encendido. Llega sin formatear y sin tabla de particiones. Los clientes que no sepan de qué va esto, cuando instalen el disco duro pensarán que «está roto y el güindous no lo reconoce». Se supone que la gente que compra estos productos deberían saber estas cosas, no obstante. En mi caso lo he instalado en un ordenador con el sistema operativo Linux, concretamente Ubuntu Studio. Lo he formateado con una tabla de particiones GPT y formato de ficheros Ext4. Le he copiado cerca de 1 TB de datos, la mitad de su capacidad y lo he usado durante 12 horas al escribir esta reseña. Su funcionamiento es impecable. Lo que sí que no ha estado muy bien es el embalaje, aunque esto no tiene nada que ver con la marca. Una simple lámina delgada de burbujas —de las de burbuja pequeña— y un sobre de cartulina metido dentro de otro sobre de papel de estraza propio de Amazon. ¡Nada más! Esta es toda la protección. En esta ocasión ha habido suerte y los empleados de la agencia de transporte han tenido un día suave; ha llegado todo perfectamente.
