I purchased this workbook to give my daughter a head start before the school year begins, and it has exceeded my expectations! The engaging activities keep her interested, making learning enjoyable. It’s perfect for those days when she has a half day or no school at all. As a parent, I appreciate the importance of supplementing her education at home, and this workbook fits the bill perfectly. Additionally, the grade key in the back allows me to easily assess her work and track her progress. I bought this workbook to keep my child engaged over the summer, and it’s been a huge help. The lessons are short but effective, covering math, reading, science, and writing in a way that’s easy to follow. I love that it only takes about 15 minutes a day and helps prevent the summer slide. Definitely worth it for a smooth transition into the next grade.

Purchased both this one and the 6-7 Grade version for my son after failing 7th grade math and English to work on over the summer. The book is nicely laid out and breaks down into daily lessons that primarily focus on english and math but also throw in a little science, geography and history here and there. We have been using the books for about a month now and I have my son completing one daily lesson from each book each day. I then check his answers when I get home from work (as well as any required supporting work for math) and help him review what he got wrong and why. With that said, I often will come home to find at least one section done completely wrong or he will hold off to do a math section because he either did not understand the instructions or did not comprehend the subject matter. Because of this I have taken to reviewing the next day's lesson with him the night before to see if he has any questions. Most of the non-math sections are multiple choice. Every so often (about once every 5 lessons or so) there is an essay or writing assignment. The book usually only allows a few lines for writing and as I want my son to write more I am making him do those either on another sheet of paper or typing them up on the computer. He is finding the 7-8 grade book a little more challenging than the 6-7 book, which is good but the lessons are very similar between the two books for both levels on each activity day. Overall I think the Summer Bridge series and this book are well written and having the answers in the back of the book are helpful. I do think the physical exercise portions of the book should be dropped. Having one section dedicated to rotating your arms or doing jumping jacks is a waste of space that could be put in a side note section and include another lesson for the day instead. The one thing that would make this a 5 star rating was if they provided at least one example in each section as to how to do the problem. Other than that no complaints and I am seeing an improvement in my sons efforts and comprehension with most of the material. Great product to keep your children's skills fresh over the summer

I get these every year. It helps to keep her mind sharp during a summer of video games and TV. Of course the kids aren't thrilled to see them arrive, but it cuts down on the time it takes at the beginning of the school year to relearn the fundamentals every year. The don't "lose" near as much. This one, 7-8th was a lot harder, but that's because 7th grade is where it gets tough and 8th is even more intense. These are great products that will be bought for 12 more years at least.

The Summer Activity School Book for grades 7-8 is excellent! Fun activities keep kids engaged and reinforce learning. Highly recommend!

This book is good for summer if you don't want your kids to forget the material they've learned throughout the school year. The subjects vary in each page and its a good amount of time everyday. I would buy this product again, definitely what I was looking for.

We enjoy the short lessons, keeps the kids engaged. I did find some concepts to have not Been covered yet for that at grade and then some they were far advanced in. Totally fine. I did find many mistakes in the answer key though. Which I thought was interesting. But I corrected my kids with what I knew as the correct answers if needed.

Got this for our 12 1/2 year old going into 7th grade and he actually enjoys it! It breaks the activities down into a short amount each day so he doesn’t feel like he’s doing too much work. It has math, language arts, science, reading comprehension, and more! It’s been a great tool to keep our son busy and is brain active with things he wouldn’t otherwise be doing if he wasn’t in school.

Books is very useful for preparing kids to gr8

Summer Bridge has become a traditional book for my kids transitioning to another class since 2018. It boosts their confidence for the next grade. It's a guide for me to put them through and engage them academically during the summer. I will buy it over and over again.

There was little to no review or any examples to help with the questions and the activities seemed to be pretty advanced...but if a child didn't need any review or examples then it would be great

alright but somethimes the wording in the book for my child could be quiet difficult to understand and he is a honor role chilled
