Excellent solution for storage space compression
I had two dedicated DVD cabinets and a six-drawer dresser for media storage, and even then I had a lot in banker boxes here and there. My goal is to get all the media I'm keeping into one, 5 shelf bookshelf. I'm about half-way done. I did the math, and these binders compress the DVD storage demands roughly 5:1. So for every five banker boxes, I'm getting 1 banker box of storage in the binders. I appear to be doing better than that in real life, but I've lost count. For music storage, I calculated 2:1 or better. I haven't started that project yet. That's a LOT of furniture space freed up. Good DVD storage cabinets are roughly the same price ($120 or so) for the same capacity or less, but the results here can fit on a single bookshelf. So basically think a small breakfast nook of storage furniture or boxes 5-deep, replaced with a bookshelf, for the same price, and much easier to move between houses. As some have noted, you can't just slide the DVD outside case insert in with the disc. If there's an insert inside the DVD case, it generally fits, barely, in the sleeve with the disc. When I think the external artwork is worth keeping (useful information, better labeling, etc.) I simply fold it into thirds and stick it in with the disc. With so many discs having labels built into hard cases or otherwise useless without the original case, this is as good a solution as I can expect. A wider sleeve pocket would probably make the disc slip around too much when in transit an fall out. It also wouldn't add much to the capacity. As for add-in sleeves, this may make sense if you do not put the inserts in with the discs. If you are saving the inserts, the number of sleeves that come with the binder works out just about right. I have about a dozen I've had to pull out of binders because they included whole booklets, and so I'm putting those back in as I work through the boxes. I'm currently ordering another set of 12 of these, after already buying 18. Given the nature of online storage and occasional problems like iTunes graying out music I've uploaded from my own CD collection because it's "no longer available in my region" (Dear Apple - I have a priority for you), keeping original media seems wise if you want to continue enjoying it. As for quality, it looks great, feels great, and some difficult-to-please people I've shown them to find them awesome. Consistent build quality and no little plastic cutout leftovers to shuck out like corn husks before use. I wouldn't recommend them for cars with small children or dusty locations, but for a bookshelf, they look exceptionally high end, even in the cheapest design. I may get the higher end ones later for things like back-up discs of family pictures, so you know which one to prioritize.

The best solution to a common storage problem.
Like many people my age I have a lot of CDs purchased over the years, but with all my music now digitized I was faced with a dilemma: what do I do with all these CDs taking up space in my home? Two media towers of CDs taking up space in my home, to be exact. After some research on the internet, I decided that placing all the CDs in binders would be the best way to reduce the storage space they were taking up, and that these Bellagio-Italia storage binder sets would be the best-looking option. I was actually surprised that there aren't more options, as it seems that Bellagio are the only company making binder type CD/DVD storage. It's a good thing, then, that Bellagio makes a fine product. They look good (but there is no way they are actually made of leather--just a nice-looking pleather), are sturdy, and can hold a good number of CDs. I had around 670 CDs and fit them into 11 binders. Where once there were two media towers making it impossible to fully open the door to the bedroom, there is now a shelf of classy looking "books". The plastic inserts seem to be very sturdy and I was able to fit a CD and the booklet in each pocket. I managed to fit 15 pages in each binder; any more makes the binders kind of unwieldy and unable to stand solidly on the shelf. Perhaps, if you are dispensing with the booklets, you may be able to fit more inserts into each binder. I purchased 18 binders (a set of 12 and a set of 6), along with twelve 8 packs of insert pages, which was way too many. This was due to my poor math skills (My 9th grade Algebra teacher was right, bad math will affect my future endeavors!), but now I have 6 binders and a ton of insert pages to do the same thing with my DVDs, so it was kind of a blessing in disguise.

Would definitely recommend!
I LOVE THESE! We have so many DVDs. They were stored on a small corner wall shelf that had five shelves, and double stacked into seven cube storage spaces. We bought a twelve pack with the added insert packs. Each added insert pack puts each binder at, what looks like, a maximum capacity. All of our DVDs now fit into three and a half cube storage spaces. I have taken thicker scrapbooking paper and made personalized dividers for each section/genre; it makes it a lot easier to find exactly what your looking for, especially if you have multiple sections in one binder. We will be buying more because we used most spaces available in these. We will be using them for our CDs and games as well, as they are all stored in the same cubed shelving in our living room. I'd like to add that today was trash day and they were delivered in the afternoon, while trash is picked up in the morning. Our empty recycling can, the one that is big, blue, and goes on the street for pick up, is now almost all the way full with nothing but DVD cases. I really do hope these stand the test of time, because they look amazing. The only downfall I found was that the fuller you make them, the more the inserts lean out of the right side bottom corner of the book-binder. This looks to be due to weight, size, and the holes for the metal rings/clasps to go through. You have to be sure to slightly support the insert pages as you start to put them on a shelf. It's not a big deal, or a hassle, honestly. I would definitely recommend to anybody. This is a product that I'm glad I spent the extra cash for.

Clean Organization with a Few Small Tweaks
I love a clean, organized look, and matching cases are the first step to streamlining any media collection. They look beautiful lined up on a shelf and create a much more cohesive feel. My only wish is that they came with slipcovers to give the books a more solid stand. If they're too thin, they tend to tip over instead of standing upright. I also recommend keeping each book to around **14 pages (56 discs)**. Anything more starts to overexpand the spine. It's worth picking up extra refill pages and additional books to keep everything looking clean and evenly balanced. Simple, functional, and a great option if you enjoy organization as much as I do.

Perfectionist approved!
I was a little concerned reading some of these reviews but my apprehensions are now gone. I ordered 4 sets of these and they are working beautifully. One of the albums (out of 12) was defective (missing a rivet), but all the others looked very nice. I went online to Amazon and ordered a UPS pickup for the defective item. The next day UPS arrived with a free label and a return receipt for me and took it away. I called the Amazon 800 number and they credited me for one album, since these albums are also sold individually, (which was more than I paid for it as part of a set.) The albums arrived packaged individually in plastic bags so there was no worry of them being exposed to humidity or water damage. There was no warping. I ordered two sets of extra inserts; but the albums are quite full with the included inserts. I believe I may still be able to add one or two extra pages per album though. As far as the cover art (insert) for DVDs is concerned; some DVDs come with a menu and cover art insert included in the box that fits perfectly in the pocket. Most older DVDs did not have these so I did go ahead and cut the cover down to fit. The cover is purely decorative and doesn't have the menu. I don't think it is the manufacturer's (Hand Stands) intention to deceive anyone. I think the page insert was made to hold these menu pamphlets and never intended for the cover art on the front of the DVD case. I've also found these to be very useful for holding Wii disks; the instruction manual fit well into the second pocket. They hold CDs and their art perfectly as well. I'm happy with my purchase and I intend to order more as my collection expands.

Excellent - Yea!
Initially, I was worried about losing all the special pictures and information included in our DVD cases. However, new DVD's have few extras and I'm not missing the space hog cases - I'm totally over it. We've eliminated six shelves of cases and taken two surprisingly heavy black bags for recycling. Like most, we bought lots of DVDs in the past. We've cut back because we download most for a single viewing and now only buy the ones we'll actually watch repeatedly. Space saving already! Anyway, I've received four Bellagio-Italia binders. All have been well made, attractive, and in the long run they'll be a good investment (free shipping is a plus). Though I bought extra insert pages, I could only add one in each binder because the additional width impedes the closing and display on shelves. For me, one package of inserts is enough for eight binders - I can store up to 52 discs in each binder. After reading other reviews, I was worried about unwanted dust on the DVDs, but there's a plastic envelope top for each dvd slot which helps keep the dvd's clean, so there should be few problems - I've had none at all. The binders are leather-like (similar to a good faux leather purse) and present a clean unobtrusive appearance in any room. The black with white stitching matches the TV, amp, DVD player, etc. nicely. They look good in a small space and since my book collection has greatly diminished, there are "books" in the bookcase. It's much better than the helter skelter look of DVD cases. As you can tell, I'm really pleased and highly recommend the Bellagio-Italia binders. I'm fixin' to buy about five more to finish up our current collection and provide space for those we'll buy in the future.

Great for storing music CDs
I bought several of these as a means of storing music CDs that I need to keep, but don't access frequently. Another reviewer noted that each compartment can hold the CD and jewel case booklet without too much problem, and that is what I was looking for- a way to keep both CD and literature, but dump cumbersome and heavy jewel cases. With 48 CDs and booklets in each binder, the binder is slightly splayed wider than the binding edge. In my case, 10 pages, or 40 CDs/booklets, might have been a better ratio per binder, but I was also interested in saving space. With a little compression, even with all 12 pages filled, they look nice enough on the shelf and do a great job containing a once unwieldy CD collection. Overall a good product that looks nice and does exactly what I needed. UPDATE: After living with the binders on shelves for a year or so, I decided the splaying from being overfilled was no longer going to cut it, since that just didn't look very nice. I have since purchased additional binders so that each one now holds 10 pages of CDs and jewel case booklets and they look much nicer. These binders have allowed 200 CDs with literature to fit into just 10 inches of shelf space, which is just amazing when you consider the storage and weight associated with 200 jewel cases.

Great for someone on a budget- quality matches the price
I just received this product in the mail and so far I really like it! I should say that you can feel how flimsy this item is, it is certainly cardboard covered in pleather- but it looks much more expensive than it is. I did purchase additional insert sheets which are already added to the book in the pictures I provided. I am not afraid of my CD's falling out like some of the other reviews claimed, there is a little plastic holder for the top of each CD to prevent just that. This plastic is not high quality and i can tell that somewhere down the line I'm going to have to replace sheets. To answer the other common question, these sheets cannot be used in a different three ring binder and must be used with the Bellagio-Italia binder. This fit my entire collection of Xbox and Playstation games, and it looks really nice too! While it is a bit flimsy, I like the product for the price that I payed and would/will buy again. My only real complaint is that this product comes with a pre-set label that says CDs/DVDs, I'd seen on some of the other binders the label 'games' or 'movies' and I was kind of hoping there would be additional label choices in the box with this product, however it is really just a minor inconvenience to print one out and cut it to size. Three out of Five stars because while the price matched the quality, this isn't the highest quality item and will need replacement/repair somewhere down the line. It does however look very nice and might last quiet a while in a soft-handed home. I will re-review this item in six months time to tell you how well it lasts.

Great looking and do the job, although expensive
I was sick of having DVDs all over the house. I finally undertook to move them all into folders and I didn't want to do this half-heartedly so I bought 12 of them to ensure I wouldn't need to buy something later. I think I had something like 450 DVDs to relocate. They aren't the most premium quality, particularly the inserts, but the overall effect is really nice. They just look like antique books. I am planning to replace the labels at some point but I haven't yet. One shelf now holds every DVD I own, instead of having some in shelves, some in a big box, others in a cane basket and others somewhere else. I can find what I want quickly. Very, very expensive, but I'm glad I invested in it. Much rather this than another box that I'd have to find space for.
