of course the optician was keen for me to spend a lot on reading glasses for my +1.5 need. er, i don't think i want to be ripped off. bought these at a fraction of the price the optician was wanted and can't fault them.

Why indeed - well I did because sometimes, still, in this world what you pay for is what you get!The glasses arrived VERY quickly in a nice sturdy box - the whole package screams quality; I had opted for the stainless steel Rimless Square variation (because i'm vain and still try hard to look good even at my advanced age - Jurassic at the last count). A small amount of adjustment to my face/nose and off we go - no that was it, nothing more, instant comfort, very lightweight and within half a page of The Lancet I had completely forgotten they were there; Possibly the greatest compliment for any spectacles.Just a quick note about the specs themselves. Not only are they lightweight, tough and very good looking in a modern way but they have excellent coatings on clearly superior lenses - enough of the sale pitch, in a nutshell they are a complete delight.My colleagues scoffed a little when I spent the extra to buy these glasses and comments such as 'the ones at ASDA are just as good at a third of the price'.... were all very quickly quashed when I showed them the real thing - and when they tried them the silence grew, well, even more silent.I think that we have all been suckered into believing reading glasses have to be cheap and disposable and a little bit nasty by manufacturers that want you to keep buying their frankly sub-standard products - Read Optics have turned the market on its head and introduced both quality and style at a still very affordable price.Really though, the proof is in the pudding - so buy some and be absolutely delighted - I did and I was - Oh yes and their customer service is second to none, polite, efficient and professional. Enough of me now, I'm off to read an excellent book with the assistance of my new found best friends.

Great readers let down by flimsy construction. I like them so much that I'm constantly tightening up the lenses and frame assembly just so I can continue wearing them.Great specs let down by hurried design flaws.Shame really...........
