GRILL HOGS 18" GRILL CLEANING BRUSH

I am updating my review of this brush. When I originally purchased the brush it was a complete junk as the bristles were too thin and bend easily when trying to scrape off the hardened bits of food on the cooking grates. The shaft was weak as it to bent under any kind of pressure as you were trying to clean the grates, rendering the brush ineffective.However, the company has since reached out and in an effort to stand behind it's product, made some improvements to the brush and thus I feel it's a better brush now. The shaft isn't as flimsy as the previous model. It's more solid and holds up well to pressure. The length of the oak handle is long enough to keep hands from becoming a human rotisserie.The bristles were somewhat improved in that it is stronger than the previous model and would be good for light duty grill cleaning but if you frequently grill foods that require basting with sauces that drip onto the grates and leave a large buildup, the bristles don't hold up as well to those cleaning tasks. I think if the bristles were packed more tightly into a spiral design (like Brushtech), it would keep the bristles from bending and make it longer lasting.I can appreciate the fact that the company does listen to its customers and work on improving their products as well as standing behind their products. Overall, a good brush, but not the best for heavy duty grate cleaning.

I wanted a grill brush that would not hurt the new baked on black finish that came on the grate with our new grill. The brass bristles appear to be flexible enough not to scratch the finish. The brush overall is a nice design and on a web page looks like a very good quality brush. Due to the heat or occasional rain, I haven't been ableto put this brush to work outside yet. But, after close examination of the brush I noticed the twisted wire handle attached to a wood handle, is easy to bend. It will not spring back into place once it has bent. That eliminates the ability to press down hard on the brush to get at those stubborn baked on food particles. There isn't a scraping edge to help either. However, I personally wouldn't want an edge anyways due to the damage it would cause to the grates finish. Having worn out many grill brushes over the years I can tell I will not be happy with the durability and convenience of use with this brush. But trying to find one with soft brass bristles that wouldn't hurt the finish on the new grate is the problem. I am sorry Mr. Grill for leaving this rating and opinion. If after using this brush I find that my opinion has changed, I will gladly update my remarks.4-15-2014I was very impressed with the concern from Mr. Grill over my review above. I was immediately contacted and was told they were going to do what was necessary to make the handle very strong, thus eliminating my concern over the long wire handle bending during any aggressive grill grate cleaning. After about 6 months I received and e-mail asking if I would like to try the new brush design and shortly received a brand new brush in the mail. I have never seen a grill brush this nice before. They redesigned the turned and finished oak handle that is triple the length than it was before, as seen in the new photo. YES, I am very pleased to have found a brush of this quality that will be easy and fast to use but won't hurt my enamel grill grate's. Thank you Mr. Grill for listening to what concern a customer had voiced over your previous product design.

I have been looking for a grill brush for my porcelain coated grill grates and this one meets my needs and is inexpensive. The grill brush has a sturdy handle that is long enough to keep my hand away from the heat. The bristles on the grill brush are not very stiff and would bend easily if you applied hard pressure, however I did not want something that was very stiff because I don't want to scratch the porcelain coating on my grill grates. I also do not think that it's necessary to apply much pressure to get the grates clean if you follow the cleaning instructions that come with the brush. I used the brush with a little water on the hot grill grates, as recommended by the manufacturer, and the grates came clean even though they hadn't been cleaned the last two times we used the grill.

Works much better than the standard brass grill brush. 1. The handle is long enough so your hands are never over flames. 2. The bristles reach not just the top of the grill grating but also the sides. 3. I like the wood handle over the plastic handle of my old grill brush. 3. The bristles are also six inches wide, as opposed to 2 or 3 inches like my old brush, so you cover more ground with each pass. I took off one star because the brass bristles could be thicker. I grill a lot and brass grill brushes break down. While this brush is far superior to my old one, I anticipate I will be replacing it in about a year.

This brush is great. I bought it after looking to replace the grill heads for an electric one that had worn out but the replacement heads were so expensive. This long-handled grill brush from Mr. Grill is actually easier to use and works better at getting the grill clean than the electric one. I used it today on a very hot grill and my hand did not get too hot. In addition to being wide and covering a wide area, it can fit sideways between the grills to get them really clean. The downside is that after only 2 uses it is already quite worn on the side so I doubt it will last a full year as the guarantee states but since it is priced well, I won't mind replacing it when needed.

Die Bürste hat mich eigentlich von Anfang an überzeugt:- schöner, gedrechselter Holzgriff- Lederschlaufe zum Aufhängen- Extra langer Stiel, damit man auch den heißen Grill reinigen kann ohne sich die Hände zu verbrennen- Kupferdrahtbürste um den Grillrost zu schonen und eine eventuelle Beschichtung nicht zu beschädigenAllerdings ist der größte Vorteil - der Kupferdraht - auch gleichzeitig der große Nachteil.Kupfer ist ja bekanntlich weicher als Stahl was zur Folge hat, dass sich der Kupferdraht durch Nutzung und Druck sehr schnell verbiegt, sodass die Reinigungsleistung darunter leidet.Leider lässt sich der Bürstenkopf dann nicht einfach "weiterdrehen", sodass man wieder "frische" Drahtenden zur Verfügung hat, sondern ist starr befestigt. Man hat dann also weiter innen noch top Drahtenden, mit denen man nichts anfangen kann und vorne die verbogenen.Schade, da diese Bürste ansonsten die beste Bürste ist, die ich bisher hatte.

Nachdem ich mich jetzt ein Jahr lang mit einem komplett schwachsinnigen Weberzubehör geärgert hatte, musste Ersatz her. Nachteile der Weber-Bürste B0045UBBO0 waren eindeutig der Griff, der nur eine flache Putzbewegung zugelassen hat. Dementsprechend wurden nur die vorderen Drähtchen benutzt, alles andere blieb ungenutzt. Daher liegt sie jetzt im Müll.Nun zu diesem Prunkstück hier: Massiver Griff, massiver Draht der die Borsten hält, ich bin sehr zufrieden. Und das zum gleichen Preis wie die Weber-Bürste, die keinen Cent wert war. Hätte besser gleich nach Alternativen Ausschau halten sollen.Werde meine Bewertung im Herbst nochmal gegenchecken und berichten, derzeit bin ich vollauf zufrieden! 5 Sterne für alles!Update: Hat leider nur eine Saison gehalten, wie auch andere Käufer bemängeln, ist der Draht einfach zu schnell flachgedrückt...

Leichte und mittel schwere Verunreinigungen hab ich damit sehr gut entfernt bekommen und den Grill nicht verkratzt.Ich grille aber nur wenige male im Monat.Die Messingborsten sind nicht so hart wie Edelstahl. Deswegen werden die Borsten bei vielen Grill Abenden nicht so lange halten wie eine Edelstahlbürste. Wer sehr häufig grillt und reinigt, ist wahrscheinlich langfristiger bei einer Edelstahlbürste besser aufgehoben.Wer aber Alufolie unterlegt und nur geringe Verunreinigungen hat, dem kann ich diese Grillbürste wärmstens empfehlen.Positives:- schöne Optik- extra langer stabiler Stiel- Lederschlaufe zum aufhängen- die Drahtbürste ist aus Messing um den Grill zu schonen

Bei mir waren die Borsten schon nach wenigen Anwendung komplett verschrumpelt uns so verbogen, dass ich die Bürste nicht mehr nutzen konnte. Ich muss dazu sagen, dass ich Gusseisen mit der Bürste reinige, welches heiß ist. Das scheint sie nicht zu vertragen. Vielleicht verträgt das die Bürste einfach nicht. Der Bürstenstil hingegen ist gut.Und der Service ist sehr gut! Nachdem ich die Rezension geschrieben habe, hat die Firma -unaufgefordert- das Geld an mich zurückerstattet. Sehr zuvorkommend. Danke

Bisher habe ich eine Weber-Edelstahlbürste zur Reinigung meines Gusseisernen Rosts verwendet. Um diesen ein wenig zu schonen habe ich die Messingbürste bestellt. Sie reinigt verhältnismäßig gut, aber bei weitem nicht so nicht so effektiv wie meine Weber Stahlbürste. Damit könnte ich noch leben, allerdings sind die Borsten nach dreimaligem Gebrauch schon ziemlich durch. Rund ist der Bürstenkopf nicht mehr. Verwende nun wieder meine Stahlbürste, deren Borstenkopf nach zwei Jahren noch so rund ist wie nach dem Kauf und werde nun nach dem Grillen den Rost immer schön einölen. War ein Versuch wert, aber mehr auch nicht.Fazit: Für Würstchengriller mag die Grillbürste funktionieren. Wer aber mit stark mariniertem Fleisch arbeitet oder auch mal einen 3 Kilo Schweinenacken 12 Stunden für ein ordentliches Pulled Pork auf den Rost wirft, ist diese Grillbürste ungeeignet.
