RS-550S 18V Brushed DC Motor, 3.175mm Round Shaft, 6V-24V, Drill Repairs

The motor on my Black & Deck Matrix drill (BDCDMT120C) went kaputt, so I set out to find a low-cost solution. ALL the reviews for the motor with the actual part number from the drill said that motor was worthless. I found a Reddit post recommending this motor. Lo and behold, it's the real deal. It is a perfect fit, and it fired right up after changing it out. It took about fifteen minutes to open the machine (eight screws), take the motor out, remove the spindle from the old shaft and put it on this one, put it back together, and start drilling again. The only weird thing is this new motor spins more slowly than the old one (rs -50vc-7527), but I don't really think that matters to me. If this motor lasts, then it's worth the money. If it doesn't, I will update this review.

This motor was a perfect replacement for my two drills. It fit both my Black & Decker Matrix and my Craftsman Bolt On. I liked that the motor came without a gear on it so I was able to easily move the gear from the old motor to the new one. Replacement was simple and the new motors work great.

This is a common motor with lots of torque used in many tools. Drills, saws etc. Very good to have for lots of projects.

Works as it should in mighty mule gate opener, remove factory motor/circuit board and splice this in. Factory motor smelled burnt and I was getting constant beeps for an obstruction- this fixed my gate and saved me from buying a new unit costing $300.

Bought for Black and Decker LPHT 120 Hedge Trimmer fits fine - BUT i found the cog far harder to remove from the old motor than youtube videos say! Used a propane torch to heat the piss out of it before it would pry off.

I used this motor to replace a drill motor and ended up burning out the motor after around 10 minutes of heavy use. Obviously I thought this was my fault and purchased yet another motor to replace the one that had burnt out. I checked my batteries with a multimeter to ensure they were within the rated voltage. After my 2nd installation of one of these motors I spun the drill for about 10 seconds with no load and then it stopped. No matter what I tried to revive the dead motor it wouldn't spin. It seems as though other people have had better experiences with these motors, but I felt it important to relay some of the quality issues that I found.

Replaced my compressor motor with this one. It's a small tire inflator that's built into a car booster. I made sure this motor had all the same specs and it just dropped right in and has been serving me well since.
