OXA #10 250-010 Quick Change Knurling Turning & Facing Lathe Tool Post Holder

Anyone who has a need to knurl knows that you need accurate dimensions on the knurling wheels in order to size the work to be knurled, especially if it will take repeated revolutions to achieve the proper depth and finish, especially on a small lathe. This piece is designed specifically for small lathes.The unit is just fine and works well, but better data (i.e. any at all) regarding the cutter pitch would sure be of some use. I found some references to 27 tpi for the cutter, but a dimensional data sheet for the wheels would certainly up the value and ease of use.

I currently have the replacement QCTP; which has the same fault the original had. I need to return it for another one that will do the intended job.

Dovetail slot is a hair too narrow to easily engage with tool post. It works, put takes some fiddling to get aligned and on. Eventually will put on the will and correct it.

I bought this for my 8x16 lathe. Had to modify the bottom plate a little to fit my compound slide, but that seems to be the norm. I didn't know what to exo5fir this price but I am very happy with the qctp. It's steel, hard steel and the machine work on it is well done. It's accurate and works as it should. Way better, no comparison to those 35 dollar piston actuated qctp for sell on here that are all aluminum construction. This thing will last for many years, I have no doubt about that. It's probably the best 50 bucks I've spent on my lathe. No I just need to build up a collection of 50 or so toolholders for it! Lol! It's a quality built item and it's worth the price.

The holder is OK but the screws are questionable. They are a loosefit in the allen socket and feel quite soft. Just right for one of thoseOh Crap moments when it strips out. I think that each one of thosefactories has their own version of the metric system.

This is the type of tool post that should come standard on a mini lathe but it doesn’t, but I highly recommend it if you want to improve the accuracy of your machine. This tool post is solid steel and has a bit of weight to it, as do the tool holders which translates to improved rigidity, which in turn provides a better machined surface finish and improvements with accuracy.
