I know the description says chains are used. Personally, I don't like the chain. Does the turquoise one have chain?

Yes this dream catcher in particular does have chain. I bought for my daughter but the light did NOT last long.

Can I put it in my car? Will it be dangerous for the battery?

The size of the dream catcher is: 5.9" * 19" ，you can put it in the car, but because it contains batteries, so be careful to avoid exposure to the sun to avoid unnecessary accidents.

How bright does it light up? Could it be used as a night light for a kids room?

Yes, it is quiet bright and it can be used as a night light for kids room, very lovely.
