Peace of mind by the pool
I thought it was too small for my 18 month old but it fits well. He didnโt like it at first but warmed up to it fairly quickly. The grab strap is a great feature and it turns him onto his back. The only issue is he can kind of turn over which is a struggle for him and I imagine he would give up at some point. The design does allow him to float upright and practice swimming. Bonus feature is that the front pad makes it difficult for him to climb into the pool facing away from the pool. Also the large head pad will protect him if he were to fall backwards on the concrete. I love the color combination which also stands out. Highly recommended.

Definitely recommend!!
We bought this for my son when he was about 3 1/2 - 4 months old. He is almost 5 months and about 15 pounds now. It fits him great, fit great when we first bought it and still fits great now. Love that it has adjustable straps so we can tighten or loosen as needed. He's not a huge fan when we first put it on him because it's kind of bulky but I personally think all infant life jackets are. Once it's on and buckled and he gets used to it he is fine. We use this every time we take him out on the boat and he falls asleep while riding and it doesn't seem to bother him. It's a little hard for him to wear a hat when he has his life jacket on because the the back comes up high but other than that it's great! We even recommended this to our friends and they bought it for their baby as well.

Best life vest for baby under 30 lbs!
We tried 4-5 different vests that were supposed to be for "infants" but all of them were either too big, too bulky, or too uncomfortable for my child. This one was perfect. The neoprene chest part is great because it allows their arms to still move freely and lay by their side. The foam is substantial enough to float them easily and the flap behind the head floats their head easily above water. And the double strap between the legs make the vest feel very safe and secure. My daughter weights about 22lbs and this worked great! The mid section is snug so it could fit a smaller child. Worth the buy!

Overall I think the vest is very good, especially in the water
Our granddaughter was around 15 lbs the first time we took her on the boat, and it fit her well, and has some room to grow. Overall I think the vest is very good, especially in the water. The design will hold the baby on his/her back, head supported out of the water. She floated right over wakes, kicking and splashing, loving it. However, the downside is in the boat, and she must wear a life vest by law. Even though it works great in the water, while on the boat it becomes rather awkward and uncomfortable. The reason: The "floats" on the front and head rest are very bulky. While in the water and standing up, it works fine, but an infant needs to be held a lot or sit. That is when it all pushes up on her neck. And even though the opening around the neck keeps her in perfect position in the water, it about chokes her in the boat. There is no good way holding her on your lap or sitting in a seat. And she got hot, because of the tight fit around the neck there was no air flow. It is a constant thick neck brace. We had to loosen it up for her to somewhat get comfortable. So for safety in the water, 5 stars. But for comfort on the boat, at the best 3 stars. I found another solution. So I have to mark it a 4.

Great life jacket for safety!!
**update** a whole year later and I still love this safety life jacket. It still fits very well at 31โ 25lb. She doesnโt tolerate it as well at she did last summer. But ya know,.... being a toddler is hard LOL. I will definitely hold on to this life jacket for my newborn son. The quality of this PFD is great. **original review** I would buy this life jacket again!! I purchased for my 10 month old, 24in., 18lb baby. It was difficult to find an infant life jacket in a store. I was hesitant to purchase online because fit is obviously VERY important. I wish I was able to upload more than 1 photo, the Amazon app is stopping me. The life jacket is fantastic. It fits very well and my baby is comfortable and happy in it. I would definitely buy this again. Some reviews are critical stating that this PFD is not good for swimming, that is a misuse of the product. This is for floating and keeping babys face OUT of the water. If you want something to help your infant swim, this is not the right product. (Life jackets = help save your LIFE Swim aids = help you swim)

Safe and comfortable
We struggled to find a life jacket that functioned to keep our son safe when in or around water. Other life jackets flipped him to his belly or he couldnโt move or function in. He can freely play in this one and when in the water it flips him to his back. He wore it for a week long beach vacation without complaint.5/5!

Child was uncomfortable...
Based on prior reviews, I purchased this life jacket for my 11-month old son, whoโs approx. 20lbs and 28โ long (25th percentile for both weight & height). The life jacket turned out to be much smaller in-person than I had expected. It was extremely tight with no way to loosen, even the slightest, as it has a zipper up the backside. The clasp up near the neck made it so tight that I felt like he would have a hard time breathing. We had to leave it unclasped the majority of the time just to provide him with some comfort. My child is not large for his age by any means. I have no idea how anyone could say that their toddler was able to wear this life jacket comfortably!?!! He was physically uncomfortable, and for that reason alone I would not recommend this life jacket for a child in the older infant/early toddler stage.
