not suitable for silk or wool.
I intended to use the product to dye silk and wool garments, (as stated as suitable) but found on reading the instructions that Very Hot water is needed, which would destroy the fabrics! Also no mention that other products are required for the dyeing process. I won't be using this product!

Effective dye but only for top loading washing machines
Ordered this dye as it was the colour I needed and the info told me I could do it in the washing machine.. Dye arrived promptly, however it stipulates top-loaders only...the dye is American...maybe those machines are more common there.

gorgeous color and easy to use
These packets are super convenient; just toss in your washing machine and go. I dyed a hospital gown and a pair of white slipper socks and even though the socks weren't one hundred percent cotton I still got good saturation.

I love this stuff! :D
I used one packet and threw all kinds of things in there- some were white/natural cotton, some were light green/splotchy from not doing a very good job with another brand of dye- everything came out great. I love how there is variation in the way everything took up the color, too- dress shirt, linen pants, insulated flannel, scarf, sweater, even the long-john top that turned out to be 50/50 cotton-poly came out really pretty, with a sort of "heather" look. Very true to the color shown on the packet, intense even though I am sure I used more than the directions said (big washer, though it wasn't full). We have also used one of the purples previously for my daughter, which is why I wanted some for me- I am a big fan of iDye now!

One of the better do-it-yourself colors out there
One of the better do-it-yourself colors out there. Still has it downsides and takes a few tries to figure out.

DO NOT USE INDOORS
The dye works decently but OMG THE SMELL!!! D: SO AWFUL... Make sure if you do this you do it on like a camping stove outside, with a gas mask on... It's by far the worst smelling dye I've ever used and I use industrial paints, dyes, and adhesives everyday for my job so I'm pretty used to bad chemical smells. This stuff had me feeling light headed 15 mins into the dye process with all the doors and windows in my house open and 3 fans going. Made my house stink for a whole day after!
