High Quality that performs perfectly. Worth the premium.
If you have a nice Toto toilet or a nice Bosch dishwasher you have likely noticed how abruptly the water valves close on these things and you probably can hear or even feel the water hammer that follows. That water hammer can damage your pipes and maybe cause a catastrophe if your pipes are older. Don't buy one of the cheap water hammer suppressors made in China sold at Home Depot. Get a good one like this. It works perfectly. Instead of a bang, the water shuts off smoothly and quietly. Perfect. The Bocsh dishwasher turns on and off the water more frequently and I couldn't even run it at night while sleeping because the bang of the water hammer was enough to wake you up. One of these good quality ones if worth the money. Installs super easily. Don't go cheap. This one is the best design.

Profound improvement for toilet water hammer
As part of a remodel I installed a Toto WASHLET G5A "smart" toilet. I was shocked at the water hammer this introduced in my plumbing: after each flush once the water draw was done, there was a loud "slam" inside my walls. You could here it halfway down the house and it would wake me up in the middle of the night if my wife flushed the toilet. This took 5 minutes to install and the noise is completely gone. Based on reviews, I'm going to assume this will last about a year so I already bought another one for the future and a third one to go in my kitchen to quiet down the water hammer from my dishwasher! Crossing my fingers that this lasts!

Peace of mind
It worked for me. 10 minutes to install with a 5/8 wrench. It stopped water hammer in my dishwasher.

Lasts a few years
So I bought this unit about five years ago for my dishwasher. Did the job, silenced the water hammer. Fast-forward a few years and I have the kitchen remodeled. Hearing the water hammer in the basement when the dishwasher's running, I'm thinking that it's time to buy a water hammer arrester. To my surprise, there was already on there - I forgot I had put one on there a few years prior. I bought a replacement for my dishwasher and two for the kitchen sink (one for hot and one for cold). Voila, no more hammering! So are they good, absolutely. Can you buy one and leave it alone for decades? Apparently, not.

Worked for a VERY short while
Revised review: My original positive review is below. Unfortunately, after just a few days the "hammer" sound began to return, and after a couple of weeks, it seems to be no different than before installing it. I don't know if that is a defect in this unit, or if they are all this way...but it seems to have been a waste of money and effort. Original review: Wow! I had a kitchen faucet line that would shake/hammer every time either the sink cold water, or the washing machine, or even a toilet shut the valve. This little gem took 10 minutes to install, and fixed the problem. You simply remove the supply line ("riser") from the faucet supply valve, put this right in-line, and re-attach the supply line/riser to this "arrester". It seems to be well made, with nice chrome plated brass nuts and a stainless body.

Stopped the knocking
Worked perfectly to stop the pipe knocks after installing a Toto toilet.

Buy copper and brass, you get stainless steel. So you might as well order the SS one - it's cheaper
1. It is laser engraved as made by Sioux Chief. The engraving is hard to see, but it is there. 2. It is not the brass and copper one I ordered, but the cheaper stainless steel and I have no idea what the corrosion process will look like in my copper and brass plumbed house. I am not happy but I am not returning it because there are no other offering on Amazon that are brass and copper and the price difference, while extremely annoying, is not enough for me to do any thig about it.

Easy to Install and Works Very Well
Installed two new Toto toilets and started having water hammer bang every time either toilet shuts off water after a flush. I have installed four Toto toilets in two houses and every one of them causes water hammer when shutting water off. Bought this Sioux Chief water hammer arrestor to mitigate water hammer bang caused by master bathroom toilet first. It is very easy to install, took about 15 minutes. Once installed it works really well. The big bang after each flush is completely gone. Quite impressive really. So impressed, I ordered another one for my downstairs Toto as well.
