Are these PVC BPA free? Does the color chip off?

these dinosaurs made from non-toxic,BPA free material.Conform to ASTM,EN71,6P test standards.

Are they solid or hollow?

ALL 5PCS Jumbo Dinosaurs are SOLID.

How are any of these 13" when the box is only 11"?

Because the box is 11 inches long but 14 from corner to corner and they lay in Diagonally they are measured by the length not height they are a good quality toy and very realistic looking you get five for 20 bucks it’s not a bad deal

Can these be put outside? I want to make a garden scene with them.

I'm sure they would fade in the sun after a while. My son did leave one in the bottom of the pool for a week and it was no worse for the wear. He also takes the brontosaurus with him everywhere and it's holding up. They are surprisingly detailed so they would look nice.
