Makes a great keyboard monitor
I use this speaker at church for my keyboard (Kurzweil K2600XS -- 88 keys). It works great. It's got a strong low end with clear mids and crisp highs. It does not have a direct out, so you'll need to take the line out through a direct box if you are going into a PA system (like me). I find that Yamaha always gives me the best bang for the buck in this sort of thing, and this powered monitor is no exception. I still prefer the sound of JBL, but I like the price of Yamaha. If you are using this for a PA system, I suspect it would work fine for a mid-size room (300 people or so). While you're online, feel free to check out The Engineer's Guide To God. You can Goodle it, or just drop the The and the apostrophe, add the www and put a dot com on the end and you'll be there.Have a great day!

Impressive clarity at any volume
I am a mobile DJ. I used it outside for the entire 4th of July weekend at the family cottage, hooked directly to my iPod. Fantastic clarity and impressive SPL for it's size, weight, and wattage. Performed flawlessly and garnered many compliments from party guests. I only bought one speaker so I knew if buying a second would be worth it. Needless to say, I will be purchasing a matcher to run stereo at smaller events. This 10 in. speaker performs like many of the larger speakers I've demo'd at various music stores. I run JBL JRX115's and Harbinger 18 in. subs off Crown amps for my larger events, but a pair of these will do VERY nicely at smaller events like weddings and family reunions.I usually prefer a passive system so all controls are at my fingertips, but have run various active systems in the past. My most recent active speakers were Mackie Thump TH-15A's, but I think these 10's actually sound BETTER than those 15's.

Got a great deal on the price
Got a great deal on the price. Got it hooked-up to my electric piano and one mike. No problem using the two together. Plenty of volume - I don't turn it up past 5. I'm afraid it could blow the speaker if I did go much louder, but that may be due to the output level of my (Roland) keyboard. I used a Yamaha 15W bass amp for 35 years, which still works after all this time. This amp is louder, has better high end response, and I like how I can hook-up 2 mikes into it w/o going through my mixer. It'd be good for a small gig, or a REALLY LOUD Karaoke party (I'll pass on the latter, thank you :D).Update 07/06/2016: Over a year and a half of almost daily use/abuse, and still going strong! I'm really happy with this PA. Thinking about buying a 2nd.

Excellent speaker and great price.
Superb sound. Works great for my apication and that is out door audio. Has great throw of sound and very solid in build. Decent weight at 36lbs and looks as if it will hold up well to outdoor use.

Great as stage monitor or for small PA
I have been using the MSR100s for a couple of years now. I originally bought one as a stage monitor, and that is still how I use them most of the time. I have however used them for small venue PA mains, and again, I am very impressed by their ease of use and sound quality. I do tend to baby my gear, and the MSR100s have seen little abuse, but they feel very well constructed, and the built-in handles make them easy to move around.

Good sound, volume, would purchase again
This is my second one of these, I have used them for two wedding receptions in the last month, one inside, one outside. Sufficient sound to allow people to "rock" to the music, and at about half volume, I was asked to turn it down a little. I like the treble/bass controls, allows adjustment to where you place them. I am thinking about two more for the larger venues I do. Arrived on time, undamaged.

For smaller venues only.
This is a good, lightweight, and decent sounding powered speaker. I only use it for small, quiet trio gigs. It does not have the power to compete with loud guitars. Good frequency response. I use it to amplify a digital piano.
