Just keep in mind the Ram 3+ second station does not work with this radio,
Good radio and from all accounts its great but the description said Ram3+ was compatible. It takes a RAM4. The description says it works but the actual manual requires Ram 4. Had to send the Ram3+ back and Ram4 does not come in white or they are out of it which was disappointing.

Solid Radio
Great radio. Replaced a 20year old Standard Horizon. My plan was to feed the GPS from the chart plotter on NMEA0183 but the internal GPS locks on in about 30sec even though it is mounted in the nav station below deck (fiberglass sailboat). Using the mast head antenna it has great range.

Internal speaker
Internal speaker stopped working after less than a year. I replaced another Standard Horizon with this unit, and will look at other manufacturers for the next one.

BUILT IN GPS DOESN T WORK
I installed the radio hoping the built in Gps would work , but no. I tested it outside the cabin but i does not work.Second Stantard Horizon radio i bought for my new sailboat an both failed. The first was a GX2200 , the screen never worked.The problem is that i live in Chile, and nobody at Standar Horizon answered for the garantee.
