Genuine Audi ZAW071801D Slimline License Plate Frame with Audi Ring

Great frame!

Moronically, this frame kit does NOT include screws although it has spacers and hardware covers. I have two Audis and both came with about one bolt holding on the license plate and the flimsy, obnoxious dealer-issued frame. (Both Audis also had only one key, the dealer having stupidly lost the second one). On one of my cars, the holder -- a cheap piece of plastic that holds the nuts -- had partially melted in the sun and I could not get the bolt out because the nut just kept turning in the melted plastic. That set me back $150. Nice cars, sort of.

Very satisfied with the product. I actually had an issue with my plate that one of the fastening screws was stuck in the bolt, so only 3 out of the 4 screws were functional. I was able to use three screws, and position the fourth that the screw cap covered the missing screw and it still looked complete. Also got a tinted plate cover and it fit well.

Though the item claims to fit on my vehicle (2019 Audi Q5), it does not. True, the holes line up with the mounting screw holes so it can be attached to the vehicle, but the edges DO NOT go around the edges of the black plastic plate mount. You would literally be mounting it on top of the mounting plate - with the edges of the black plastic mounting plate showing around all sides of the item. Will be returning.

Be careful what model you order this frame for. Not a good fit on my S5. It requires use of the rear spacers for clearance and preventing the screw tabs from collapsing inward, which then require use of longer screws. The rear camera also makes the fit tight when using the spacers. Unfortunately, the stock 12mm length screws are to short, and the commonly available next size (16mm) too long to work well since you can only tighten them so far until they hit bottom. The screw covers are way to large and prominent which takes away from the subtlety to the brushed stainless finish. Would have just used the screws only without the caps if the holes weren't elongated in the frame which looks poor since the plate shows from underneath through the gaps. Frame is better suited for SUV's and larger sedans with more space around the plate mount.

Developed rust within 3 months of purchase. Seller would not refund or replace them.
