Cool figure
Never had him as a kid but is a great part of my collection. The alternate modes are nice.

An imperfectly engineered but perfectly awesome Transformer!
Apeface is a fun and well executed modern interpretation of a whacky design from the late years of the original Transformers run. I love this figure! Yes, there are Transformers action figures out there that are more polished and slick than this one for sure. There are one or two transformation steps in particular here that arenโt completely satisfying. Specifically, securing the โgorillaโ mode head assembly into place is trickier than it should be. That said, this is also an ambitious and refreshing design thatโs worth the trouble. The Headmaster/Titanmaster gimmick represents the 1980. source material well and is super fun as always.

A good figure.
Certainly a good figure though not exactly cheap enough for gifting but hey each person has what they are willing to spend on gifts. Overall I would say he is worth the $50+ price tag seeing as he is a triple changer.

In my opinion a solid update of the G1 toy.
Apeface originally came out in 1987, I was 12 at the time, sort've in that weird spot where I still liked toys but I also liked girls. Apeface was the last "new" transformer I ever bought. All 3 if his modes are modernized updates of his 80s incarnation. The Jet mode is the weakest of the 3, just like the original, but it's not bad really. I've seen a lot of complaints about the white plastic and while I agree that it does obscure much of the molded detail, I don't think it will break anytime soon. I plan to customize him with a lightly done Black Paint wash in the future to bring out all the paneling in the white plastic. Transformation is pretty interesting, there's a couple of neat tricks done with his robot legs that become part of his Ape body and his Ape arms. Robot mode wise, I think he looks good, because of how he transforms he does NOT have a waist swivel, or wrist rotation. But he does have standard arm and leg articulation for the Siege line, along with the foot pivots. The "battle damage" is on his shins and upper arms, it's simply silver paint to simulate a chipping effect. Ape Mode is my favorite, as he actually has teeth this time, and while it's not super posable (you can't bend his arms inwards to pound his chest for instance), you can still get some good display stances out of it. The Ape Mode just looks generally more intimidating than the original did. Jet mode is the weakest, but as I've already stated, it's not bad and is in keeping with how the G1 jet looked overall, but just a slightly modernized look to it. Obviously there's no posability in this mode, but it does have a peg hole in the bottom so if you have figure display stands that use standard display ports you can display it in flight. Like the original toy, his headmaster (named Spasma) can fit inside to ride it pilot it. The odd thing about this mode is while the Jet has a cockpit area that would have fit the headmaster with a bit of tweaking, the actual cockpit is in the rear, and is covered by his sheild accessory so the pilot can't see. I'm guessing it was placed there to save costs due to the nature of the transformation. Overall I still like the jet mode. Finally, accessory wise he comes with a sheild that mounts on his back in Ape Mode, a sheild in robot mode, and is the tail fin assembly in jet mode. A pistol that he holds in robot mode, an artillery looking cannon in Ape Mode, and a nose mounted cannon in jet mode. And finally his headmaster (a little robot that transforms into the bigger robots head) who becomes, you guessed it, his head in robot mode, part of his head in Ape Mode, and is either free standing or the pilot of the jet in that mode. The headmaster has the same posability as the Titans return headmasters (limited arm movement, 360 head rotation, legs are molded together but can bend at the knees. So you can really only stand or sit him, or transform him into the head.) Overall, I enjoy the figure, he hangs out on the desk in my small home office area. His transformation seems rough at first, (esp. Getting him into Ape Mode) but once you get the hang of it, he's a brick in all three of his modes. I've read complaints about the peg on his sheild breaking off because the fit was too tight, I never had this problem, but as a precaution, I sanded his sheild peg down a bit, and it seems to be doing great. If your a collector and a fan of Apeface, I recommend this. An older kid who's into these would probably enjoy this, a younger kid might have trouble with the transformation, and also 2 out of the 3 accessories are needed for transformation so if they get lost than the toy will probably be useless.

Seller is prompt and quick to fix any issues
The product came quickly and in excellent condition. When it was transformed, we discovered a factory defect in one of the limbs (not the seller's fault, it obviously happened at the assembly line). I contacted the seller immediately and they got another one out to me in what I consider a very fast turnaround! Returning the defect item was very easy, and I will definitely buy from them again in the future.

You'll go -APE- for the new Apeface
A fan favourite, G1 Apeface was one of the most anticipated releases when Hasbro revived the old Headmaster gimmick in the Titan Returns line. Unfortunately it was not released, leaving fans clamoring for an eventual release under the Siege line. Like his original form, he is a triple-changer, easily converting from Headmaster robot, to futuristic space jet, to brutish ape (hence the name!). Its a fun transformation, and one variant you might like to try is to have the wings deployed in ape-form, as I've done in the photo, to make an unofficial 'Winged Monkey' mode.

Triple changer โ๏ธ Horrorcon โ๏ธ Package was delivered quickly. Wish you wouldn't deliver collectable items in parcel sachets. Offers no protection to the item. Luckily everything was in good order when it arrived. Apeface himself is impeccable, he is fun to transform. His colours and siege battle damage make him look badass. Some people do not like his soapy/milky white plastic, i love it! It's never going to yellow like a lot of the other siege line already has. Great price, great fun.

Product review
I really love this item I collect transformers and this is a plus for my collection. At first I was worried about the plastic that was used to make the item but having it in hand I am no longer worried as the item has stood up to falls and my dog stealing it and no damage.
