Not powerful enough for a humane kill, even if it did kill the target and not just maim it. Get a .22 pellet rifle with 1200 fps or more and not a .177 pistol at 400+.

Absolutely! I have a laser sight on mine and use it to exterminate mice and rats in the chicken coop. Use pellets and not BBs for best results.
