So glad I bought these!
I debated about buying these utensils as I already have a wok spatula and a standard ladle. The wok spatula has a shorter, all-metal handle but it quickly gets very hot. The ladle is short-handled and conventionally shaped -- it's a bit awkward to use in wok cooking. But did I really need to replace them? Yes! It turns out that I definitely did. These utensils are so much more efficient and easy to wield and the wooden parts of the long handles keep them cooler and more comfortable to use when cooking over high heat. The angle of the ladle's bowl makes it a natural for the wok. You don't have to reach close in and straight down when ladling out liquid, but can stand back and easily skim the liquid out. I highly recommended both of these tools and consider that they are definitely worth the splurge.

Ancient and beautiful design
I am extremely pleased with this spatula and ladle. I use these with my 14 inch hand hammered wok which is what they are designed for. They are a pleasure to cook with. Beautiful and functional. Very well made, possibly by hand. The wood does not transmit heat. Nicely balanced. Really lovely pieces. Dry immediately after washing and lightly oil as these, like my wok are prone to rust which I do not consider a fault. Treat them like your favorite cast iron cookware. I took the risk as products purchased from Amazon don't always work out for me. This time I scored! They are well worth the money. If you appreciate ancient and beautiful design this is it!

Well made, good length, 2 rivets
I bought the item because of its length. I need an extra inch of length of a ladle when cooking with a high heat wok range to avoid getting a hand burn. The item is also well made and has two rivets to hold the wooden part from getting loose.

Great utensils
I bought these to accompany my Yosukata carbon steel wok becasue they were similar in color. I have been VERY pleased with them after using them 2-3 times per week for the last several months. I would not hesitate to buy them again if the ned arose.

Makes an excellent small cooker for a campfire as well as a quality ladle for a wok
This ladle is actually a very high quality. Rustic enough to provide some character but refined enough that rough edges and metal-working flaws have been removed. The item arrives with a bluish tint similar to bluing on a rifle. It cannot be scrubbed off and instead turns darker when used (I’m using the ladle as an egg-cooker over a fire). There will be a sticky, waxy coating that can be removed with a scrubbing sponge and hot soap water. Heating and oiling the ladle like you would cast iron is a good idea. You can buy a hand-forged ladle like this in the US for over $100 or this one instead. This item is one of my better purchases. Very pleased.

Heavy
I thought this was a little over priced. However, now that I have it, I am happy with it. I was looking for a good heavy ladle/spoon. This is one of those thing where you really do get what you pay for. I have bought cheaper one that just didn't cut it. Could have bought this right from the beginning and been better off without spending all the money for ones that didn't hold up.
