Great, simple and easy to install
Quick delivery, alarm is great! Easy to install, simple to add other devices and app works brilliantly.

Probably the simplest way to add an alarm
It is easy to install since everything is wireless. And it contains a reasonable amount of sensors to cover a few key points of the house.But1. you have to have the app to set it up.2. it needs the cloud services to use the "smart" part.Essentially, when you buy this you trust that Yale will run their service and keep the app updated for longer than you need this alarm. Because without the app you cannot even see which sensor needs a new battery.

Easy set up
Easy to install and set up, easy to add more sensors, mobile app very straight forward to use
User
Remote setting and disarm by phone
Installation a bit confusing when trying to follow picture guide but not as bad as it seems I fitted the siren box first and everything else was straight forward remote arm disarm by mobile phone brilliant feature

No thought given to user experience.
The most obvious problem with the entire system is that clearly not enough thought has gone into user experience. From set up, instructions, app design, troubleshooting, support, hardware. Every single step has been poorly implemented. The instructions are terrible. I don't mind diagrams but this obvious cost saving scheme to avoid translating has left the instructions resembling an alien language. And the website support is virtually non existent. The app is frankly appalling. It feels like an alpha testing build. I know there is no subscription fee but honestly there are minimum UI standards that most people expect in 2023 and this app breaks most of them. A huge multinational company that can't build an app is baffling. The door sensors work well, but not much thought has been given to the typical modern door. There is a small bumper included to raise the level of the magnet side but on one of our doors I needed to stack two and it's still not flush. Thankfully they are forgiving in range and angle. The pet-PIR is unreliable. It will be fine for a few days then randomly detect the cat.On the landing the PIR is even more unreliable. I don't know if we have a fault sensor but one will only detect my hand 10 cm away from it. The other only worked when the light was off. No idea what's wrong, and as mentioned there is essentially no troubleshooting or guidance from Yale anywhere to be found. The sync hub works well, but good luck finding the source of any fault status. The website says check the history on the app. That's it. The app of course gives no indication of what is causing the fault status (it doesn't even tell you there is a fault).I can't recommend this system as it is so unreliable I just don't trust it to work when it needs to.

Awful Smart hub and app
The alarm itself seems to work. However, the Smart Hub is awful. It loses its internet connection randomly and requires a full power reset to reconnect (power off, disconnect the Ethernet cable, turn off the backup power, and wait for a while). The connection light on the hub also does not show the actual status properly โ it turns on and off randomly as well. The app is also terrible. It signs me out from time to time and does not support any quick sign-in methods or biometrics. I have to type in my password every time. An app like this is supposed to stay signed in at all times to receive notifications, especially when the alarm goes off. Obviously, the app was not designed with this in mind.

Watch out, "Sync Smart" is the 2018 system.
Watch out, "Sync Smart" is the 2018 system. I've had no idea, I bought that and now I cannot buy the latest sensors from Yale as they aren't compatible with this hub. I'm therefore very limited on what I can install in my house. Don't fall in the trap, buy the latest one that's compatible with Yale Home app and not Yale Alarm app. The customer support is telling me m best option is to return the kit, after I've drilled holes everywhere in the house and stuck things on windows and doors...

Does the job
An absolute doddle to set up , app set up guide better than the booklet . Does a job and gives a decent sense of security .
