Let me start by saying that I love this idea ! I find myself making several trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night. So, there's obviously a need for this product. The only problem here was the item failed to function as described. What you should know before you buy: it requires 3 AAA batteries that are not included.Here's a detail description of what I experienced. Once again, I love the idea and the price, but will it work?I installed 3 new AAA batteries and installed the item by bending the arm with the light bulb and hung it on the side of the toilet. I closed the bathroom door to make it dark and nothing happened. There was no light. I opened the battery compartment and made sure that the batteries were placed correctly and they were. I wiggled the batteries a little bit and behold ! There was light! Now, I close the battery compartment and hang it again on the side of the toilet and I see the light changing from red to orange to yellow to green to blue to pink etc... I push the only button on the unit to choose the blue and it stays at blue ! That's good so far, right? I walk away to see if it turns itself off as it suppose to, but the light stays on. I come back 10 minutes later, hours later but the light stays on. I turn on the bathroom lights and it turns off, then I turn off the bathroom light, the unit light come on again but it stays on indefinitely even with motion or movements. It stays on all night until the morning light hits the bathroom. Then, the next day, it doesn't come on at all without taking out the battery compartment cover and figuring with the batteries again until the light come on. Then it starts changing the color until you push the button to select the desired light. Once that is done again and again, the light just stays on indefinitely...*** Conclusion1-Motion detection failed completely on my unit, when it's on, it stays on.2-Battery contact inside the battery compartment is NOT aligned properly in order for the unit to work as intended.3-Light sensor doesn't always work. Sometimes, it's bright in the bathroom but it stays on.4-Cheaply made, the battery compartment door and the way the metal pieces for the batteries to make proper contact seems to fall off.5-The only button on the unit doesn't get pushed in or out or it doesn't slide, it feels very cheap.6-Not reliable. Let's say I loved the idea and I wanted to gift a bunch of these to my elderly relatives and friends, how can I be sure that the unit they receive will work? And if you were lucky to get a working unit, how long will it last? There must be better quality items out there that were made better.

So first thing, if you accidentally drop it in the toilet, forget it, it will not work correctly again.2nd I did take one out of the box to replace one that fell in, and it will not stop on my favorite color, green (like the button doesn't work).So, that's why you have to buy 5 for 2 toilets.

Great night light

Bought this toilet light in October. It stopped working in March will not buy this product again, very cheaply made.

They light up nice but the wire for toilet is so weak! The light falls off toilet constantly
