Countdown to Super Bowl: How the 1968-1969 New York Jets Delivered on Joe Namath's Guarantee to Win it All

The Jets beat the Colts, again...
This was a wonderful and fun book written by Dave Anderson. I did not realize this book was 50 years old until after I had finished reading the first chapter. A complete memoir of the Jets 1969 Superbowl victory. The book makes you wish that other sportswriters, who covered their subsequent winning Superbowl teams would have written similar books. As a New York Giants fan, I would loved to have read about all the day to day happenings that occurred with the team the week leading up to their 39-20 Superbowl victory over the Denver Broncos. Again, great book. :)

REVISITING A CLASSIC
For football fans interested in what went on behind the scenes at Super Bowl III, from the perspective of multiple players and observers, this is a terrific book. Many great anecdotes, some of which I'd never heard before... and the good guys (the Jets) win at the end!

a very good description of the two weeks leading up to the game.
I enjoyed this book immensely. It was an important game for both the AFL and the NFL. It was fun to read again about the players that contributed to the outcome.
