Q: Does this game have offline multi-player ?

Hi K. We play two racers on split screen, same as GT 6. I read somewhere that F1 has room for up to 4 racers on same TV-Console but never try yet. I hope the info was useful to you, buy the game you won't regret, my son is not as fan like me, pretty demanding on race skills. It's not an Arcade for sure.

Q: Do I need a special controller for this game?

The ps3 controller will give you feel for the game play, but the wheel and pedals are the natural interface, like in real life. The driving force gt is a good start. I'd also condsider a wheel stand to mount it if you are not sitting at desk or table. A force feedback wheel mimics the resistance and bumps, but is abit heavy to use without support. There are nicer wheels for more money. Might shop eBay for a used one
