YAXI stPad2 LR(Red&Blue) Earpads for Sony MDR7506/900ST

These fit my Sony MDR M1 headphones perfectly and were really simple to install. Substantially fill out the sound particulaly in the base: deeper, greater definition. Adds to detail across the spectrum. Seem to slightly widen the sound stage. Very comfortable to wear - although folks who wear glasses, like me, put the cans on first and then your glasses. These headphones do need a tight fit around the ears. Very cool look to these earpads as well with the red and blue liner. Overall, more than happy: upgraded some spectacularly good headphones into something really special. Worth every penny!

My pads on my trusty MDR7506 were all falling to bits (think of kids had been picking at them. Was about the buy a new set as they’re a reasonably affordable set of headphones and a trusted reference for lots of audio engineers and producers (not saying their absolutely neutral, but if you get something sounding good on them, generally it translates well to any sound system. Well, I ordered this set of pads after reading a Reddit post about them, and they have, to me improved the sound quality, they are way more comfortable and they were really easy to put on. Was being all gentle at first but just stretch it round lip when you’ve pulled the old one off, and voila. Just note in the instruction, they are supposed to be a certain way round, not as in right and left, that’s obvious with the colours, but the velour type material should face one way, then the leathery material the other. I can’t remember which and don’t have them to hand, but it’s in the instructions and apparently they’re designed that way to improve the acoustics. Seems to work for me.

Far superior to the standard ear pads. Well worth the upgrade.

Very comfortable fit - improvement on the originals with better sound clarity, more depth / wider presentation and less mid bass bloom.

I'm using these with the SONY MDR-CD900ST. These add some much needed extra comfort over the original pads and a bit extra sound stage without completely changing the original signature. I would recommend these for music listening and the original pads for when you're doing actual critical production work.

Ya había probado las almohadillas Yaxi en uno PortaPro de Koss y fueron de maravilla, así que me animé a cambiar las incomodas almohadillas de mis AudioTechnica M40x y vaya que fue una buena idea, además de ser extremadamente cómodas hacen que el sonido sea mucho mas agradable y cálido.

MDR-M1STを使い始めて数か月間、耳の痛みに悩まされてました。 ①純正パッド → ②ノーブランドの厚みがあるCD-900ST用パッド → ③本製品へと交換してます。 ①純正パッド･･･とにかく耳が痛い。１～２時間で耐えられなくなるので間に布とかを入れて厚みを出してみたけどそれでもダメ。音は気に入ってる。でも痛いので常用できない。 ②ノーブランド･･･純正よりは耳が痛くないけど、メガネも使用しているのでパッドが柔らかくない分メガネが頭に押さえつけられる感じになって耳の後ろ部分がメガネの形に凹んでしまう。５時間くらいが限界。音は少し遠く感じるが痛さで使えないよりは・・・という感じ。大体２か月くらい使用したが、メガネの形に凹むのと長時間使用時の耳の痛みも出てきたので買い替え。 ③本製品･･･メガネが多少押さえつけられるがノーブランドほどではなく1日10時間くらいつけてみたけど許容範囲。 数日つけてみたが、耳は今の所痛くない。音については②よりは良いと感じる。パッド素材の影響かな？ 自分は青赤の色付きにしたので大丈夫だったが、黒を買った人は前後がちゃんとある製品なので取付時に要注意。 ※同じYAXIから出ているM1ST用もあるけどそちらを選ばなかった理由。 写真を見た限りそこまで厚みが変わっていないのと、付け替えたけど耳が痛いと言っている人がある程度いたので厚みがあってかつ本製品の外側素材の方がヘタりにくそうだと判断したのでこちらを買いました。（純正10-11mm この製品17-18mmくらい 計測場所は厚みの縫い目から縫い目なので参考値） 長期で使用してみて痛くなるようならレビューに追記しようと思います。今の所は快適。

I dont own a single pair of pads like these. And I have a decent box filled with pads. They have this semi-asymmetrical design on the inside of the pads. The front portion of the interior cup is is solid wall protein leather like the outside of the headphone. While the back half of the interior is a cloth suede like material. This creates an imbalance in the sound pressure, so on and so forth, technical jargon. Simply put, the sound reflects from the front, but dampens in the back. This has the side effect of making the sound feel like its coming from the front. Its angled pads or angled drivers, without having to actually angle the pads or the drivers. But getting back to the actual quality of the earpad itself. They are a bit on the thin and stiff side. If they are memory foam it really doesnt feel like it as they are pretty springy. But this seems like a neccessity. Since they are incredibly thin, it still wants to keep your ear from just pressing flush with the driver, so it stays a bit stiff to give as much distance as possible. Couple this with the angled interior wall makes the inside of the pads feel incredibly roomy. It can take an otherwise very closed pair of headphones and open them up without adding on gigantic pads to them. The only downside to this roomy interior is it makes the the surface area of the pads that presses into you heads actually a bit small, so it can be pretty noticeable to wear at first. It does take some getting used to and breaking in. After a while the material softens up a bit and it doesnt press into your head or cheeks as much. But the sound it helps you headphones have and the roomy feel is something that i absolutely love. Probably not meant for every headphone, but on certain ones its great. If you already have a collection of headphones and pads, this will make a great addition. If you are looking for them for specific headphones, i would get a second opinion from someone who tried them on those headphones first. But honestly, the few ive tried them on have sounded and felt great.

Doesn’t ruin the sound of my m50x and are more comfortable than stock pads.

Well, I got this for my other JVC studio monitor as well. This is much better than the default pad, as it creates a much deeper cup so your ear will not touch the driver. I cannot say how much of sound quality improvement this pad does to the headphone, as I just thorw my old pad out as soon as I got this one.
