Monoprice XLR Male to 1/4-Inch TRS Male Cable - Gold Plated, High Fidelity and Eliminate Noise in the Recording Studio and On Stage, 16AWG, 6 Feet, Black, 6Ft

This brand always surprises me with how good the quality is with their products….at least with their audio cables, because that’s all I’ve bought from them 😅 With most physical music stores hard to come by these days and with the majority of online retailers charging ridiculous amounts for the simplest of items, this brand is a blessing! It’s been probably over a decade since I’ve found a fairly priced cable - XLR, TRS, MIDI - that doesn’t either literally fall apart, have connectivity issues, or pick up enormous amounts of feedback, causing an unbearable noise level. I first purchased a pair from Monoprice maybe a year ago now and have made it a point to buy from them whenever possible - I’m pretty sure every in and out of my interface and mixer are occupied by one of these. In terms of functionality, the style that has the support springs on each end of the cable is awesome for rack gear and monitors where the cables hang down.

Well built cable with strain relief and good quality connectors. The cable jacket is of good quality and flexible. It handles road use without issues. That's why I keep purchasing this cable (with different ends) for road use.

Amazing

I am actually using these cables to connect two professional audio amplifiers (bridged mono) to their respective electronic crossovers to drive a pair of subs in a very high-end audio system where this part of the circuit is best being in balanced operation. I also bought a pair of the Monoprice TRS to TRS 0.5 meter cables (haven't used these yet but have tested and inspected them). I'm a very critical person hard to please, using these in demanding applications and I must say that I AM very pleased with the overall construction. Very robust cable, good TRS plug (I actually LIKE the internal insulation where the connections are sealed in a block of insulator as this will probably mean that the connections never go bad and need fixing) and the XLR connectors seem first rate! Unbeatable for the price. Electrically, they tested as a virtual dead short tip to tip (maybe 0.1 ohm), and the wiring order was CORRECT. No revered wiring as some have stated. Attention to detail appeared SUPERB and essentially FLAWLESS end to end. These are going from an American-made electronic crossover to American-made professional audio amps actually hand-built, then custom modified by me, and I am VERY HAPPY with these interconnects. I will definitely look to buy more cables from this company, and I think that says a lot.

These cables have a nice design, are pretty thick and good value, but the conductors are not 16 AWG. I unscrewed the connectors and measured the small wires with calipers. I measured 1.6mm, just the same as a mogami gold cable that is advertised as 24 AWG (2534 cable), except the mogami gold is quad so it has four of these wires instead of two for the monoprice. The monoprice is thicker on the outside, at 8mm instead of 6mm for the mogami, but that is all due to thicker outer insulation. The quality of the soldering on the monoprice is also not great, one of the cables I got had burnt insulators visible once you unscrewed the connectors, leaving the wire exposed inside the connector, which could create a short if things were to move a bit in there. This will do the job in many cases but for the next ones I think I'll look at worlds best cable that seems to be a step up with the Canare L-4E6S or Mogami 2534 cables and Neutrik connectors. Mogami is generally recommended in the studio for best shielding and lowest resistance / capacitance, while Canare has the best durability with their braided shields, making them a better option for live use.

Using this to connect from my audio interface to my studio monitors, they work well with no noise.

Ordered a pair to connect my audio interface to KRK ROKIT 5 G3 studio monitors, can be used for any brand studio monitor big/small, you just have to look at what kind of input - output your monitor or audio interface has. I'm so happy I bought it. No unwanted noise like from cheap cables, 100% pure & totally professional quality sound! They're super solid and a little heavy in weight, single cable's weight is around 200gm. I don't mind the weight, no regrets, it is a very high quality cable to connect any big instrument/gear.

Great product, thick cable, this should last for years. I purchase Monoprice heavy duty cables when ever I can. A little pricy all the same
