Maybe I lucked out?
I know there are multiple reviews that say this case was destroyed after checking with an airline. I took the chance because I didn't have a choice but to check our seat during our most recent trip. I used a small collapsible luggage cart to move the seat in this case, across the airport and then gate checked our seat for 2 different flights (picking it up in between.)At the end of our journey, the car seat case had a few scuffs but no tears or holes and it did an amazing job protecting our Radian RXT. I packed the folded luggage cart inside the cover before gate checking and it fit with plenty of room to spare for the rear-facing boot, coats, or whatever. We didn't use the backpack straps because we were already carrying backpacks but the straps aren't heavily padded. I could definitely see this being uncomfortable for long treks but for a quick move from one place to another, it's fine.If it wasn't clear (since mine came with zero instructions,) fold the seat bottom up into the back of the seat and affix the storage strap (red, between the harness straps, beneath the cover) to hold it in place. Then, slide the bottom of the seat into the bottom of the cover and pull the cover up around the back of the seat and around the sides, then zip it up. If you fold the seat bottom but don't secure it with the strap, it will try to pop open as soon as you pick the whole thing up.

Save your car seat and buy this!!!!
This is amazing! I cheaped out on our first trip with our Diono and regretted it big time. The airline or TSA broke our seat in one of those cheap red nylon bags. One of the reasons I hadn’t purchased this bag was because of the reviews. Well for our next trip I decided I had to try this, not only for my son’s safety on our trip, but also because I just can’t deal with having to get yet another car seat. Most of the negative reviews are in regards to the back straps. Our bag had a single strap connector in the middle (pictured) and side connectors. Obviously the side connectors are pretty wide and I would only use them if I was attaching a single strap on one side (messenger bag style) to put it over one shoulder. The Rainier fit inside the bag PERFECTLY and because my son is still rear facing I was able to also fit the detachable rear facing base and the infant body support pillow in the bag. Due to the size I checked the car seat again, with much trepidation, however the car seat arrived in perfect condition at our destination AND at home. The bag held up very well to wear and tear with just a few minor scratches. This is expected as we all know how rough airlines are on checked baggage. I also don’t think it’s reasonable to mark down any stars based on weight as some other reviewers did. We all knew we were buying a heavy car seat when we bought it! Diono uses steel frames in their highly rated seats. I don’t care how heavy something is if it’s for my son’s safety. The bag itself is very light, no more than a couple of pounds.Overall, yet another quality product from Diono. I haven’t been disappointed with one thing I’ve purchased from them and their customer service is fantastic. As a native Washingtonian, thank you Diono!!

Awkward, and could really use wheels
If you have a diono car seat, you're pretty much only going to be able to use their bags to travel with your car seat since they are built differently than any other brand. You can easily get your car seat in and out of the bag, and there is room for the angle adjuster and the rear facing base. However, with as heavy as diono car seats are, this bag could seriously be improved upon by adding wheels, or even by improving the strap placement if you're going to carry this like a backpack. It's very uncomfortable. It's okay if you're going to check your car seat and don't have to carry it very far, but overall, it would be much easier to just either rent a car seat upon arrival, or buy a lighter car seat for travel and get a bag from somewhere else that has wheels.

Great, Straps loosen too easily
Great, but the strap you can throw over your shoulders loosens real easy. Loosens while walking so having to constantly tighten it. Can probably just use a different strap from another bag or more sturdy one. Everything else about it is great. Super convenient for traveling.

Why did I wait so long?
We travel frequently and I have always just used the giant plastic bags that they have at the baggage counter. We just got back from the first trip with this travel bag, it made everything so much easier! First, the large zipper and opening makes it easy to get the seat in the bag, in a hurry. I waited until we were parked at the long term lot before putting it into the bag and had it done in only a minute or so, to load onto the shuttle. The removable straps were amazing since I had 2 kids, 2 suite cases and the car seat to maneuver between the shuttle and check in lines. I just used it like a back pack so I had two free hands instead of trying to drag the seat with everything else. Flying to and from Alaska, they can be pretty hard on luggage, we’ve had multiple bags only make it one trip. But this travel bag still looks new (bonus since it was the holidays and our flights were overbooked and crazy full both ways) . . . I am not so sure why we went so long before purchasing but I will use this for all future trips until my toddler outgrows his Diono!

Radian 3RXT Tight Fit
We traveled to visit my in laws. We carried our Radian 3RXT on to the airplane with us. It was a little bulky but we knew that. It was a tight squeeze and hard to pack back up after using it on the airplane. I was happy our seats were near the back giving us time to fold it back up and get it back into the bag. Over all it worked for what we needed it to do.

Just wrap your carseat with plastic wrap
The car seat bag was ripped when we got to our destination. It only got worse on our way back home. It's not the sturdiness bag and considering what you're paying for it I would say just wrap your carseat in plastic wrap. Save yourself the cash, I wouldn't buy it again. The only good thing about the bag was the straps to wear it as a backpack but even that is a bit awkward because of the size.

Did a lot of air travel with this carseat.
I am military and we have done quite a bit of flying with the children and taking the carseats around with us. This bag has backpack style straps as well as an over the shoulder strap. The bag is large enough to put a few blankets or stuffed animals or whatever in the bag with the car seat to give you a little more suitcase room.I recommend this car seat cover from Diono.

Good enough as a covering and means to make transporting a car seat easier
We bought this strictly for the purpose of traveling with the carseat. The material is a bit thin, but the padded straps/backpack configuration made it much easier to lug the car seat around an airport. After 6 flights, I've noticed that the material does have some small "holes" (not so bad as to have torn the bag, but you can definitely see punctures) and scuff marks, but it hasn't actually broken or deteriorated to the point that you can't use it.There isn't any padding in the bag, so it won't protect from bumps of drops, but it protects against scratches, and the padded straps make carrying the seat much easier. The bag is large enough that I could fit a R120, with the rear-facing base, an angle adjuster, and a safety mat (for protecting the surface of the car's rear seats).
