With some techniques you can get good response, but it ain't gonna come immediately
This is an interesting midi controller, not exactly revolutionary and not something that a person would really use as a primary instrument. If you think you're going to just pick it up and p play all your bass licks on a synth with this thing, think again. On your right hand, you're triggering using a touch screen, feels very different from strings for sure. With some techniques you can get good response, but it ain't gonna come immediately. Surprised there aren't any videos really showing tri bass technique. On your left hand, the ribbon controller "strings." This is the aspect I had the most difficulty with. The ribbons are recessed inside the neck, doesn't feel natural. I found myself touching the raised sections between the strings, which of course triggers nothing and makes you look dumb. The frets themselves only respond at very specific points on the center of the neck. Overall, you have to pay attention and have excellent articulation to use this effectively, and there are some things out straight up won't do. I'm not saying that it isn't usable, I would probably still use it over an audio to midi solution, just that it's tricky in new, someone's frustrating ways.

This thing is awesome! You can get really expressive with the xy touchscreen when you map it to effects in Ableton. Plus, as a bassist, I don't have to learn how to play piano in order to play synths. The tonal versatility of VST synthesis becomes immediately available to guitar players everywhere. Can't say enough about how cool it is to be able to play 4 synth parts on one instrument when jamming with other musicians.
