SAMSUNG SSD 850 EVO 1TB, MZ-75E1T0B_EU

A technician installed the Samsung SSD for me, transferring everything from my existing HDD to the new one intact. The longest part of the installation was the data transfer, which took about five hours. The actual installation of the hardware took only 20 minutes or so from start to bootup and no issues were encountered. Booting to Windows 10 Pro is much faster than the HDD and file operations are much quicker. Although I have speed-tested 30Mb download rate with Cox Internet, loading Web pages does not appear that much faster, I presume as a function of the server capability of the page being downloaded. Have only had the SSD for less than a week, but so far, all is well.

great drive BUT they should have included a SATA-USB with it. For a Couple bucks it would have saved me a real pain.people generally dont realize that solid state drives fail after usage and the warranty describes the limits

I have 3 of these, one in a MacBook air which I love and another in a MacBook Pro, another in a Mac Mini server. The Macbook Pro is 2 years old, and had to be replaced by Apple as it wouldn't boot in the last 2 weeks. Over the past 2 years I've had small problems, had to reinstall the OS, boot problems, but I really didn't think much of it. But, it finally would not boot at all, and as the MacBook Pro was still under warranty, Apple repaired my Machine. Bottom line, the Samsung SD crashed. They replaced it under warranty, even though it was not original, with another 1 TB drive. 2 years is a while, I know, but I didn't pay $450 thinking it was going to die that quick, as I've had others that are still going strong at 5 years. Bottom line, Apple told me they replace more Samsung drives than any other SD drive on the market. Worries me a little about my 2 other drives, but they're both newer, but when will they go? I'll now have to replace them for fear of failure again, will cost me but I can't take a chance of losing information and frustration again. In my opinion and Apples, do not buy these drives.

Este é o terceiro SSD que eu uso na minha última montagem, que consiste em uma placa mãe Crosshair VI Hero, com um processador Ryzen 7 1800X. Inicialmente, o sistema havia migrado de uma placa Asus Sabertooth 990FX, com o Windows 10 instalado em SSD Samsung 840 Pro, de 254 GB. Este drive funcionou durante anos sem nenhum problema. Aproveitando os recursos da placa mãe eu troquei o 840 por um drive M.2 Samsung 860 Pro de 1 GB. Para migrar o sistema eu usei uma ferramenta da Samsung, que se baixa no site. Aproveitei e baixei a ferramenta Samsung Magician, que ao ser instalada gerencia todos os drives instalados, inclusive a atualização de firmware. Usei o 850 EVO para substituir um drive Seagate Barracuda de 1 TB. Depois do novo drive instalado e formatado uma cópia pura e simples dos arquivos no drive antigo para o novo resolveu tudo.No meu entendimento, a apreensão inicial de desgaste prematuro de drives SSD deixou de ser um tabu, pelo menos no meu uso, devido ao número de anos que este 840 Pro funcionou sem problema, passando por duas placas mãe diferentes.O drive rotativo é útil e bem mais barato, mas cria um gargalo no funcionamento do computador, dependendo da aplicação de cada usuário. O SSD tem várias vantagens, gastando menos energia e escrevendo ou lendo muitíssimo mais rápido. Eu ainda tenho um drive rotativo para backup dentro da máquina, mas não me preocupo por enquanto em trocá-lo. Vai chegar um momento onde a relação custo benefício irá desfavorecer a montagem de drives convencionais, quando e como eu não sei.

Überpünktlich, einen Tag vor dem angekündigten Liefertermin, lag meine Samsung SSD (MZ-75E1T0B/EU 850 EVO interne SSD 1TB) in der Packstation zur Abholung bereit. Die Freude war groß, denn es war Freitag und ein langes Wochenende mit arbeitsfreiem Montag stand bevor. Also flugs nach Büroschluss an der Paketstation vorbeigefahren und die Sendung abgeholt.Die neue Platte sollte gegen eine 1 TByte SSHD (8Gbyte SSD) meines Lenovo Ideabook Z50-70 getauscht werden. Damit das problemlos gelingt, liegt der SSD eine DVD bei, auf der unter anderem ein Programm zum Klonen der alten Festplatte auf die SSD drauf ist.Mein Plan war es, die neue SSD in das Gehäuse meines externen Laufwerks (Intenso USB 3.0) einzustecken und dann mithilfe des Samsung Klon-Programms die interne Festplatte auf die externe SSD zu klonen.Allerdings: Samsungs Klon-Programm zeigte mir zwar korrekt die Bezeichnung der SSD an, meinte aber eigenartigerweise, dass die Platte nicht am USB dransteckt. Alle Versuche das zu ändern, schlugen fehl. Auch in Foren fand ich nicht wirklich Hilfe dazu, obwohl mehrere User ebenfalls dieses Problem beschrieben. Meine letzte Erkenntnis war, dass der Fehler etwas mit dem Intensio-Case zu tun haben muss. Irgendwie schien das Zusammenspiel der Intensio-Elektronik mit der SSD nicht zu funktionieren. Ok, in der Montageanleitung der SSD stand, einen USB zu SATA Adapter fürs Klonen zu nutzen.Am nächsten Morgen besorgte ich mir dann solch einen Adapter mit der Bezeichnung „2,5 Zoll HDD/SSD to USB 3.0“ für knapp 15 Euro. Die Anschaffung war nicht umsonst, denn damit gelang mir das Klonen fast aller Partitionen auf Anhieb. Lediglich eine von mir zusätzlich angelegte Partition auf der alten Platte wurde nicht mitgeklont. Das war aber nicht tragisch, da sich mithilfe der Windows-eigenen Datenträgerverwaltung die fehlende Partition auf der SSD nachträglich erstellen lässt und ich die Daten anschließend problemlos kopieren konnte.Ab da ging dann die Umrüstung flott von der Hand. Mithilfe des zweiten mitgelieferten Programms „Samsung Magician“ habe ich dann noch Optimierungen vorgenommen. Diese SSD ist meine erste SSD und hat meine Erwartungen in Bezug auf die Geschwindigkeit weit übertroffen. Im Vergleich zu meiner vorherigen SSHD ist sie rasend schnell.FazitDie Idee, ein vorhandenes Case einer externen 2,5 Zoll Festplatte fürs Klonen zu nutzen, ist sicher nicht falsch. Wenn jemand aber die gleichen Schwierigkeiten hat, wie das bei mir der Fall war, sollte er nicht lange irgendwelche Versuche machen und sich stattdessen einen entsprechenden Adapter zulegen oder besser gleich bei Amazon mitbestellen. Auch wenn man den Adapter vielleicht nicht oft benötigt, er spart in diesem Falle eine Menge Ärger und Zeit. Beim Kauf des Adapters ist darauf zu achten, dass der Hersteller explizit angibt: „Unterstützt 2,5 Zoll SATA SSD und Festplatten.“Dass Samsung in der Beschreibung nicht explizit auf diesen Umstand hingewiesen hat, ist aus meiner Sicht das Einzige, was ich anzukreiden hätte. Von der einen nicht mitgeklonten Partition abgesehen, sind keine Daten, keine Programme und keine Treiber beim Klonen verloren gegangen. Der Rechner funktioniert fehlerfrei wie vorher. Von mir jedenfalls: Daumen hoch für diese SSD.

Le SSD est tout petit (physiquement), tout léger, et il est livré dans une boîte avec un mode d'emploi graphique qui est supposé couvrir tous les cas. Sauf qu'il mentionne le branchement du SSD au PC grâce à un câble USD-SATA, non fourni mais surtout dont l'existence n'est mentionnée nulle part sur Amazon. J'avais commandé par précaution un kit de montage avec des câbles. J'ai utilisé le support (très bien fait), le tourne-vis et les vis, mais pas les câbles : il y avait déjà ce qu'il fallait dans le PC.Comme je n'avais pas le câble USD-SATA, un peu au hasard, j'ai branché le SSD sur les deux câbles que j'ai trouvés dans le PC, qui allaient bien sur ses connecteurs. J'ai tout rebranché, j'ai démarré le PC, et lancé le programme d'installation contenu dans le DVD fourni. A partir de là, tout s'est fait tout seul. Le clonage de mon SSD d'origine de 112 Go vers le nouveau de 1 T a pris presque 20 minutes. Ensuite, redémarrage du PC. Le nouveau SSD a été visible, et il contenait tout ce qui était dans mon SSD d'origine. Tout fonctionnait.Attention : tous les programmes qui se lançaient précédemment à partir du SSD d'origine se lancent toujours à partir de ce disque, bien qu'ils soient aussi présents sur le nouveau SSD. Si on change le programme cible d'une icône du bureau pour que le programme correspondant se lance à partir du nouveau SSD, ça marche.Bref, c'est tout bon.
