Backplate CPU Cooler, CPU Cooling Back Plate Computer Heatsink Backplate Backplane, Suitable for Intel 1150/1151/1155/1156 Black

The actual product was a perfect fit for my new 1151 socket mobo and enabled me to use my old Tuniq Tower 120, however the majority of the adhesive came off with the plastic adhesive protector.Basic instructions would have been a great help for the best method to remove the adhesive protector. It would have got 5 stars if such advise was enclosed

It turns out this thing is not compatible with Nofan CR-80EH. As a matter of fact it is not compatible with any cooler that uses nuts on the backside of the motherboard while bolts are fixed on the CPU side. This backplate can only be used if cooler's screws are meant to be passed from under the motherboard, OR when screws are threaded M3 and go from the CPU side but are free to rotate (i.e. you fasten them with a screwdriver). Nofan CR-80EH has fixed bolts attached to the cooler and then backside nuts that go on those bolts which are designed to be screwed on manually without using any screwdriver whatsoever. Hence, bolts on CR-80EH can't rotate and can't be fastened onto this backplate. I tried getting rid of the M3 thread on the backplate and making the holes bigger, but then the width of the backplate would prevent nuts from latching on.

I needed a solution as I had a motherboard with no backplate and i had a heatsink that had to be screwed down as opposed to the often 'clip down' and twist system on plastic pegs.Screwing down heat sinks is far more secure and there is less of a chance of failure as plastic pegs can fail in one corner rendering the cooling option useless!Amazon as usual were fast with delivery and the problem quickly solved. A simple item but very useful.

Look the part to do the job but i found i did not need them in the end

Good quality product that fit perfectly onto my mbo (lga 1151). Unfortunately the bobbin mount screws required for my Cooler Master Neptune 240 to reach the backplate didn't fit. Every other screw, on the pump itself, fans and even case screws fit. I'm blaming this on the very specific bobbin mount screws that came with my 4yo cooler and not the plate itself as all the other screws fit.

Had an issue with the plastic clamps supplied with my CPU cooler distorting the motherboard resulting in DIMM slots showing errors.With this little gadget the cooler can be tightened just enough and provides a firm base with no distortion.Monet well spent
