I recently bought these lights as a replacement for old similar ones that stopped working after 10 years (different brand). They arrived quickly and were well-packaged. Being solar powered they have the bonus of not having to replace batteries, and being completely free of any wires. They have a good sturdy build and high-quality appearance. The internal battery was already partially charged, and the instructions advised leaving them to charge for a day or two before use. Following the instructions, I placed them in a well-lit area while keeping them turned off, before fitting them in the garden. The package also included screws and wall plugs for installation, as well as large square sticky pads for areas where screws may not be suitable, such as glass or UPVC surfaces. One convenient feature is the small button located next to the PIR sensor on the front. By clicking this button, the lights cycle through various modes in this order: • Off And when dark… • Dim constant • Dim/bright if activated • Off/bright if activated This adjustability is much easier to use after they have been fitted, compared to other brands that may have a switch hidden on the back or lack this feature altogether. When in bright mode, the lights emit a powerful and intense pure white light that is sufficient to illuminate a medium-sized patio. The sensor is adequately sensitive to quickly respond to movement within a range of several metres/yards in the dark, with the light staying on for about 20 seconds if no further motion is detected. Overall, I am very satisfied with the performance and price of these lights and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable outdoor lighting, so five stars from me. I’ve had these solar powered motion sensor lights installed by my front door and back door (facing the yard) for just over a year now, so this review is based on long-term use, not just first impressions. They’ve held up impressively well through all seasons. Rain, wind, frost, and even a bit of snow didn’t affect their performance or durability. The solar panels still charge efficiently, even on overcast days (though they obviously do best after full sun) and the batteries haven’t shown signs of wearing out yet. Motion detection is solid, responsive, and accurate without being overly sensitive. They pick up movement at a good range and trigger quickly when someone approaches the door or moves in the yard. I’ve noticed no false alarms from small animals or trees swaying. The light stays on for a decent amount of time (about 20 to 30 seconds) and resets if movement continues, which is ideal. Brightness-wise, they’re strong enough to clearly light the entry area and steps without being blinding. At the back, the light covers a decent stretch of the yard, making it a great deterrent for security and genuinely useful when letting pets out or grabbing something from the shed at night. Installation was straightforward, just two screws per light and no wiring. I positioned them to get as much sun during the day as possible and they’ve stayed secure with no issues. After a full year of daily use, I can say these lights have been a worthwhile purchase. Reliable, low-maintenance, and energy-efficient. If you’re after a simple security upgrade for your home without running any cables, these are a solid choice.

Arrived really quickly and charged within a day sitting on a sunny windowsillwin. Straight forward instructions on different modes. Easy to install. Sensor works well and unit gives good light for about 25-30 seconds. Enough to get in the door etc. Would have been 5 stars except for the instructions sticker on charging the solar panel is stuck over the solar panel, so you have to peel this off to see if they charge. If they didn't, due to a fault, then you can't return in 'original' condition. Might affect return of cost. Overall - good value lights.

Really good, motion sensor great and very bright on top setting but is also adjustable

I bought these lights to replace failed units from another supplier, the attitude of which let me down when I called the company out on its warranty terms. It turns out that they are identical to those that I wanted to replace, except they don't have 'SPV Lights' printed on the casing. Pleased with the new purchase as they are considerably cheaper than the price charged by SPV. Buy these instead.

First set ordered only one worked. Difficult getting them replaced as supplier required them back but in the end agreed to refund without return. Second set work perfectly.

These are really good - worked straight from the box and are really bright. They do an excellent job of illuminating our side path.

Now that the evenings are getting darker earlier we are struggling to see the key hole in our front door when arriving home from work due to not having any external lights. Purchased these as stop gap as we will need an electrician to put wiring for an outdoor light eventually but I have to say I am really impressed with amount of light these project! Edit: A little update. We have found the light is struggling to get a decent amount of charge throughout the day due to reduced sunlight in winter. Obviously this is understandable given that they are solar but we won't really require them when the sunny weather/lighter evenings returns . We have also found the sensor is very sensitive and the light was going off every time somebody walked past the house even though they were a good 20ft away which was very frequent as we get a lot of dog walkers passing in the evenings. This was completely draining the battery every evening. I have put a small amount of tape over one side of the sensor. This means the light only comes on when somebody gets closer to the front door which is helping prolong the battery a little. I have knocked a star off due to the above but for the price these still represent very good value for money.
