Practical and fun!
Got this as a gift for my boyfriend as a stocking stuffer for Christmas. He loves knots and we had been eyeing a similar pocket guide at REI but it was sold out. Found this here instead! I was pleasantly surprised to find the kit that comes with practice string - how fun! It was a hit right away. I love that the knot guide is printed on durable plastic cards (feel similar to a gift card or credit card), and that they’re double sided (saves space/weight), and has the metal grommet to clip onto a backpack with a carabiner. Some reviewers complained that because of how they were connected at the corner it made it too difficult to read the cards when each was flipped out. I disagree— the text near the corner with the grommet is spaced far enough. No problems here. Just having fun and enjoying learning new knots!

Learn & teach knot tying - Great cards
I have 3-4 different items similar to this with many varied knot instructions. Directions are clear, and using different types of rope, nylon, twine, etc. helps learn where best to use what type of knot. Used this with both sons to help them learn. Fishing, camping, hiking, boating, and tarping a trailer all come up - they'll do fine when put to the test.

A useful introduction to knots
This small kit was a great way to learn about knots and knot tying. It's useful that different types of material are covered e.g. rope and webbing; the size of the materials included to practice with can be a little difficult to work with if you have larger hands, but the guide is easy to follow and the techniques are easily applied to regular-sized lengths of rope and other materials.

Great reference resource
The photos are small, but to be expected since it's pocket sized! I gave to my young nephew for his birthday, and we all had fun trying the knots. He particularly liked corralling my water bottle with the mini lasso.

Too small
Great kit, great idea and great price to help people learning to tie knots. Unfortunately the rope is the same diameter as a shoe lace which is not specified in the dimensions. I thought this was going to be the same size as rope used for repelling which is much easier to learn on than rope the size of a shoe lace.

Underwhelmed & Disappointed
Normally, I am careful is assessing written ad. When it arrived, I was surprised at how small and meager the contents were. Kudos for the photographer and writer in fooling me and making it seem special. It is NOT.

Learning
Bought this so my nephew and girlfriend can learn to tie knots. Nephew does not have much outdoor experience, and the four years that my girlfriend had spent in the navy seam to be forgotten

It is a good beginner’s knotting kit for youngsters.

Positives: - Compact and easy to pack for a camping activity with kids - Kids enjoyed using it at home and are motivated to learn knots Negatives: - Price is too high for what you get. - Printing on the cards that show you how to do knots is very small. Hard to read. Even with 20/20 vision, I was holding it close to the light
