Awesome
Works perfect for hoisting my kayaks up into the rafters in my wood shed. I hook kayaks up and simply pull the up above firewood stacks. Before these if shed was empty I could use a ladder but if its stacked full id climb on top wood to hang them. Which I knocked down the stack of wood more often than not

These are good for antenna work
I use a lot of these for Ham Antennas around the house. They hold up well outdoors in the Florida sun.

Pulleys work as expected when correct rope is used
I don't usually write reviews, but I was as disappointed with these pulleys as others, but I knew something was off because these are simple mechanical devices. Long story short, 1/4" braided 100% cotton rope worked for me. Other types of cotton or sticky rope might work as well.I am by no means a rope or pulley expert, but I can perform trial and error and research with the best of them. I know that nylon rope is best for strength, weight, and price so that's what I originally bought. You can see in the image that I have the 2 larger bikes suspended with blue nylon rope. The smaller bike is suspended by 1/4" braided cotton rope.I made a mark on the pulley that suspends the smaller bike with permanent marker. I threaded the cotton rope through a 2:1 pulley system and slowly raised the bike while I inspected the pulley. As I pulled on the rope, the pulley spun. Since I am only using these to suspend 1 bike per run, strength should not be an issue for me.Hope this helps someone in their decision and potentially helps others that have previously purchased these. The pulley sheave (inside part that rope rests on) is so smooth that a nylon rope does not provide ample grip to rotate it. I also performed the same test on 1 of the larger bikes and the pulleys spun as well. Good luck

I no longer doubt the material is steel as claimed
Use: This product I will use for similar pulleys to guide steel cable used to ring bells in a bell tower.Like: I like the size of the product, and that it does look to be stainless. It's similar enough to the old pulleys that I shall accept these. (The cable eventually wore a groove in the wheel of an old pulley, which shortens the life of the cable.)Don't like: At first I was dismayed, as the product is scarcely attracted to a strong magnet, so I though it wasn't really "stainless steel" as claimed. Poking internet with a search for "Steel 15" however, I learned something new: there are some non-magnetic stainless steels! So, I retract my complaint. Am all for strong, corrosion-resistant steel, even if it's hardly magnetic. Wonders never cease!
