So I work at a plumbing company, and I like to give plumbing related funny gifts to people up here at work when they force secret santa down my throat. I thought this gift would be perfect. You could remind someone to flush the toilet, or spray fa-breeze if needed, put the toilet seat down, or a lovely little greeting such as "Welcome to the Dunn's guest bathroom, as a reminder there is a match to your left, and the guest towels are located in the cupboard on the wall, please refrain from stealing the Vicodin out of the medicine cabinet.". You could even scare someone and prank them. Like pretending there is a ghost. Or maybe even saying something funny like "yeah you better wipe that @$$!" Or "I can see you using too much toilet paper, could you not?" You could also record a custom greating for your family everyday, such as "Todays forecast calls for rain and it will be chilly so please dress accordingly, also if you don't do your homework the forecast also call to a swift kick in your @$$." Possibilities are ENDLESS with this. I could do this all day but I have to do some work here done today or they may get suspicious. The only sad part of this story is she doesn't have a toilet paper holder!! I mean good god who doesn't have one of those things.

**Update: 1) It is super easy to accidentally hit the record button with a full roll of toilet paper, so I have had to re-record several times, as you instantly lose your 9 seconds of soundbite. 2) It's kind of hard to hear and often muffled. There's a good chance, only you are going to know what's been said on it. Downgraded from 5 stars to 4 for engineering. Otherwise, still a kick. I've purchased two of these and recorded two sounds from scenes for a Harry Potter-themed bathroom, waiting on which people prefer, Hagrid's quote to Ron, "Better out than in." or Mr. Weasley asking about rubber ducks. I've attached the latter to this review so you can tell it's not super loud, but it's amusing and audible, certainly after multiple wipes (a clean bum us a happy bum). You get 9 seconds for the recording. It fits in a standard roll and would be a funny surprise, hopefully not a shock, to anyone who uses your bathroom. I will probably record a new soundbite (too) frequently. I could see people recording encouraging soundbites from their kids' favorite show after they've used the potty. I can see adults record something cheeky (pun intended). There are endless possibilities given how long we sit on the throne. This seems like a no-brainer.

This thing is absolutely the bomb. How fun and it records perfectly and is loud enough to hear. Kind of a stupid thing and my wife thinks it childish. It is but she finally admitted its way fun. I recorded 8 seconds of Jerry Lee Lewis saying "Heyyyyy you beautiful thing you". It's a riot. You can record anything you would like. So why no 5 star rating? Well it is odd, but this thing is not WIDE enough to fit our toilet paper fixtures. It just barely fits one, but keeps coming off when used. I should have returned it as my fixtures must be slightly wider than normal, but I didn't. The indie width of my fixtures is 5.5" and this thing is 5" wide not counting the nibs that hold it in place. Too narrow for my fixtures. I could narrow my fixtures some, but would love marks on the wall so I didn't. Moral to the story, measure your fixtures firsthand hope they are jo wider than 5 inches.

I was very disappointed with this one. The entire item feels very cheaply made, and I found it difficult to place onto a toilet paper holder. The entire thing was clunky and felt like it was going to break at any moment. Also, the sound quality of the recording device is the worst thing I’ve ever heard. You can barely make out any sound other than background noise after recording your own voice. Would not recommend.

great fun

This is a must have for any guest bath, secret for your spouse in the master bath, or sneak it in your friends bathroom, ability to customize is priceless, hilarious or could be sweet up to you!!!!

So fun!! We all had a lot of fun pranking family and friends. You can re record over it so it can be used more than once. Its easy to hear but we talked loud when recording.

used it for first time today such fun -will make an excellent gift with anyone who has sense of humour -brightens up anyones day - i may buy another one

Funny thing around the holiday, though it can be touchy, randomly not working. The recording can sound weird with noises.
