Hammond's Hard Pretzels, Old-Fashioned Hand-Made Sourdough Pretzels, 3 Pound Box

Made in Lancaster, PA, Hammonds are the best pretzels. My wife's family is from Lancaster, and we've loved Hammonds for decades, even after having lived in upstate NY since1967. We buy them whenever we're in Lancaster and order them between our PA visits.

Wow! What a colossal disappointment!! I have ordered Hammond's pretzels for YEARS! Sent pretzels to my friends and family for many Christmases. I expected a few broken pretzels but what I just received are little bitty pieces - mostly an inch or less in size. There are TWO unbroken pretzels. I had to give at least one star but I wouldn't if I didn't have to. What has happened at Hammonds????

I got a 3lb box. These are excellent, I absolutely love them. I would put them on par or better than Wege. Just note that if you get the 3lb box they come in a big plastic bag so you'll need containers if you plan on storing them for a long time. My box actually came with the majority of pretzels still being whole, but honestly I don't care if the pretzels are whole. It should also be noted that these are all handmade so every pretzel will not be consistent in shape and size. My favorite thing is that these are actually a bit smaller than your typical hard pretzels so you can eat a few without feeling too guilty.

I grew up just down the street from Hammond's bakery and every Saturday morning I would go by and buy a 25 cent bag of brokers. It was a 2 quart size bag. After joining the military it was hard to get them any longer. Now with the internet I can enjoy them again. After 60 years they are still my favorite.

If you choose to buy these, you will love the taste and texture--crunchy, salty, very flavorful. Regretfully, most of the pretzels arrived broken. So, don't expect picture perfect. And, for the price--I expected a bit more whole pretzels. But, again, flavor and texture do no disappoint.

Being a Lancaster County, PA native I was super excited to see these available on Amazon! Price is a tda high, but I know the shipping is what causes that issue. These are hands down my favorite pretzel from back home!

This was a bag of bits and pieces. Was not advertised as such. Is this a bag of pieces swept up off the floor? Probably not, so still edible.. very disappointed!!

The perfect crunch and the 'malty' flavor is fabulous. I'm not a lover of pretzels but these have me over the moon. Shared with a friend who's a pretzel lover and he loves them. He calls them the perfect beer pretzel. LOL
