Wind's howling
Came to the books from the Witcher III - Wind Hunt. Loved the books which have expanded my appreciation for the fantastic world and characters that Sapkowski created and CDPR have expanded upon.

Fantastic!
So first off I purchased the 8 books from โBooks from Norfolkโ, through amazon and they came in perfect condition so I would recommend buying from them if they still have stock. As for the books, theyโre great! Both the games and the tv series had my interest piqued but I was a bit apprehensive as sometimes translating text between languages can Rob it of itโs charm, thatโs not the case here! The writing is wonderful and descriptive, the stories and characters are compelling and the world it all happens in is both fantastical and believable! Itโs a very interesting take on the fantasy genre as well, it almost steps into fairy tale territory at times, which only serves to elevate these books above their peers. Highly recommend!

Yet another gem to treasure
I brought this boxed set nearly a year ago, and have reviewed each of the books in turn during the intervening months. I bring those reviews to a conclusion with this, the final episode of Geralt's adventures. The Season of Storms is the 8th overall adventure in the Witcher series and โ to keep things in context โ is set between the events of the first book, The Last Wish, and the one I reviewed last week, The Lady of the Lake. (So, this is before he meets Ciri) The best way to think of it is as an interquel, because it helps us flesh out the substance of the lands through which Geralt travels, as well as giving us a greater insight as to how โ and why โ his mind works the way it does. Very clever. Because although our favorite witcher is an out and out killer, something of a dark knight resides within him. He has standards. A personal code of ethics to which he restricts his activities while performing the tasks he is hired for. And this, despite the fact that most people despise him; that the guild of sorcerers look on him as a joke; and brigands constantly want to test themselves against him. The poor guy never seems to get a break. As is exemplified by his visit to the city of Kerack. He is wrongly arrested; his swords are stolen; he is mysteriously exonerated and sent on a mission to assist the sorcerers at Rissberg; he is double/triple and goodness-knows what else crossed. Only to find its all been a ruse to force his assistance in deeper/greater matters. (What they are, youโll discover for yourself as this wickedly deceitful tale unravels). Personally, I thought it was a breath of fresh air. Few authors take the time to help you really get to know their main characters and their history, but Sapkowski does just that in a basic straightforward way that helps you relate to Geraltโs plight on a personal level. And of course, it does so on a stage of high fantasy, political intrigue, revenge, and good old-fashioned set-tos that are immensely satisfying . . . especially with the Easter Egg you get right at the end. See if you can spot what it means ๏ Another gem to store away in your collection.

What A find!
I never saw the game, just noticed the book, "The Last Wish". Short stories that introduce the characters. If you like heroic fantasy, you will certainly enjoy this series. Absorbing story and easy to read, I went from book to book very quickly! Can't wait for the Netflix series. If this is true to the story may well be another GOT.

Excellent first book
I have literally read only the first half of the first book (in three days - and I am a slow reader with a terrible attention span) and I am loving it. So excited to carry on with this. I bought the books after initially becoming intrigued with the Witcher tv series. I purchased the third installment of the video game and just realised I was a little bit lost. The book has helped me so much already. Came quickly and in excellent condition! Thank you!

All eight in perfect condition, same cover theme, no box cover.
The 3 last of the series are added to the gift set of 5, but it's so nice to have consistent bookcovers, and sizes. No damage. Awesome. Sold by Tome Reader if that helps.
