HALO: Bad Blood

A must read for Any fans of Halo 3 : ODST
It's essentially HALO: ODST 2 in book form , and acts as a extended ending to Halo 5: Guardians. It's awesome to see that they are keeping up with the characters of Halo: ODST, and getting the band back together ! The books Main plot deals with Sargent Buck and ONI agent Veronica Dare getting the oringinal team back together from the game Halo: ODST to retrieve Forunner tech that can help in the fight against the rouge AI Cortana. The book has lots of action, and cool look into the Halo universe post Halo 5, and Cortana takeover. If your a HALO fan or fan of Military science fiction this is a must read for you.

The Boys TV show set in the Halo universe
If you have seen The Boys on Amazon prime, then you'll be glad to know that you're reading an episode of it set in the Halo universe; What can go wrong, WILL go wrong... but at least you're with the boys.I recommend playing infinite then reading this book, only to notice the small connection between the two concerning Cortana.

AMAZING!!!
Halo: Bad Blood was truly one of the best reads. Both bad blood and new blood are among my favorite halo novels, full of everything I enjoy about halo novels including Buck which is one of the best characters. I truly hope there is more to come on this series.

Great addition to the cannon!
Great addition to the cannon. While I didn't love the previous title (New Blood), this story is told so well and engaging enough I'm thinking about giving New Blood another try. Highly recommend for fans of the series! You don't need to read New Blood to know what's happening, nor even play halo 5, as even though the story may be a continuation of these, it works quite well as a standalone and references are explained as needed.

A good book tied to a terrible game
I feel bad rating this book so low but, unfortunately, it wasn't that enjoyable to me. It's not any fault of Matt Forbeck but a result of the fact the story is intimately and irrevocably tied to HALO: GUARDIANS which I consider to be the nadir of the franchise. This a sequel to HALO 5 and picks up after the events of the game when beloved sci-fi character Cortana is made to make a turn to a bad guy.Matt Forbeck makes the best of events with Nathan Fillion-inspired character Edward Buck being the protagonist and having him deal with the entire UNSC turn against him. This forces Edward and his lover Veronica Dare to spring traitorous Spartan-IV Mickey from prison in order to try to get his help against Cortana. He has ties to the Humanity Front which knows how to hide against Cortana. Supposedly.Honestly, even if I wasn't a big fan of anything having to do with Cortana turning bad, I'd have a problem with the fact Mickey never wavers in his beliefs or takes responsibility for his awful actions. He's an irritating character and I wish he'd display some sense of remorse or acknowledge he was turning his friends over to terrorists.Despite these problems, the action was good and the book was well-written. I just can't take any book with Cortana as a villain seriously.6/10
