You can use this Lux meter as a PAR meter for certain lights. Just take the lux reading and for each of the light types listed multiply by the corresponding number : 3000k white LEDs - multiply by 0.023 3500k white LEDs - multiply by 0.022 4000k white LEDs - multiply by 0.024 5000k white LEDs - multiply by 0.02 Metal Halide - multiply by 0.023 High Pressure Sodium - multiply by 0.026 Sorry if your spectrum isn't covered, also this does not work with blurple lights, sorry. Also this only works up to about 900-1000 par.

Great Light meter for my plants! I use this to convert over to PPFD to have optimal growth, reference Migro on YouTube. I also use it to manage hot spots and dim areas to get the most out of my lights and electricity.

Display never turns on ,only the back light will work. If you take the batteries out and put them back in about 20 times, you can sometimes get the display to turn on. Should’ve listen to the other one star reviews.

I saw that it measured Lux, but made the assumption that it would also give me Lumens. Not a light meter expert so you can convert with math I guess, but was looking for something simpler. Toying with the idea of returning it as it's just not user friendly enough for me.

This has changed the game for me with my plants. I am able to move them around to get the light they need with great accuracy. Finally no more guessing and the meter is ridiculously easy to use. With the cap on, I cover the cap and sensor with my hand and turn it on. That seems to yield the most accurate readings once I take the cap off. If you have houseplants this is invaluable and so affordable. I was surprised that certain parts of my place have a lot more light than I thought, while spots I thought were ideal for my plants weren't optimal. Such a game-changer!

Calibration worked fine, Unit failed after 10 minutes of use. Unit could not recalibrate. Returned.

This light meter comes with everything you need to get started - batteries (2 x AAA), a tiny screw driver to open the battery compartment, a handy carrying case, a cover for the light meter itself with a handy string so you don't lose the cover. I LOVE it when the manufacturer / seller thinks of everything their customers will need to get started! *** F E A T U R E S *** The meter gives you the option of a back-lit screen or not, light measurements in "lux" or "foot candles", temperature reading in Celsius or Fahrenheit, and even a "record" button - although I have no idea what that's for. *** WHAT I LEARNED *** What I learned from buying this light meter is that on a rainy winter day in Vancouver, you could stick your houseplants on your roof surrounded by tin foil and mirrors & they still wouldn't be getting enough light for meaningful growth. But if you're like me, and don't have the option of moving to a sunnier climate, then you can use this light meter to compare the light your houseplants are getting from one window versus another, or from one grow light or another. Amazing how much the light measurements go down just a foot or two from the window! I think this meter helps to make sure your houseplants are getting enough light in the dimmer months. I recommend this meter, and as you can see from the video, so does Bamboo the cat - she gives it "paws up"!
