The Trail

This was a precious bedtime story that we read over five weeks every night when my nine-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter was going to bed. It’s sparked lots of conversation, interesting questions, and was engaging at all levels. I give it six stars out of five!

Bought this for my 9 year old— he reads a lot of graphic novel type books usually, but loved this book.He finished it in a week— he was very invested in the characters and conflicts— he wanted me to read the last 20 pages to him, but otherwise read it all himself.He told me after he wants to know what happens next—Good positive read.

Toby is hiking the Appalachian trail because of a pact with a friend . During his hike he meets interesting people, has amazing adventures, faces danger, and finds a new companion.He also learns quite a few life lessons involving feeling responsible for others choices. Great book for children or adults!

This amazing story of tragedy and triumph is perfect for kids struggling to overcome their own life tragedies. Recommended to me by a child who was adopted out of foster care by a loving family. As a mountain girl I know the healing power of forests, mountains and trails. The author has captured that healing power in a heartwarming, and often heartbreaking, story.

My wife enjoys adventure stories of the outdoors. I read this to her at night and we both enjoyed it. Not too long like some books and realistic. No sex or violence. If you've hiked the trail or would like to, you will probably like this book.

According to my 12 year old - 2nd best book he's ever read (1st was Hatchet). I find it hard to find books that he will willingly read on his own time, and this book has been a winner!

I got this book for my nephew it was one of the books he needed to read and overall it was surprisingly a good book to read. Also easy to read and interesting. My nephew loved it and so did I. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BOOK FOR SURE.

Reading this to our 9 year old son and he loves the store. Short chapters are quick to get through and keep him engaged.
