Fantastic Noise Cancelling, Some Comfort Issues, Lacks BT 5.0
Sound quality, and particularly noise cancelling, are outstanding with these cans. They suffer some in terms of comfort, and they lack Bluetooth 5.0, but otherwise are an excellent, premium option.-=PAIRING=-Pairing with a bluetooth phone is nearly instantaneous, and the headphones have no trouble maintaining their connection.Likewise, on Windows 10, the headphones paired immediately and had no trouble maintaining their connection. The physical volume rocker on the cans also smoothly controlled PC volume.Unfortunately, and surprisingly for premium headphones, these are not Bluetooth 5.0, which means that they can't be simultaneously connected to a phone and a PC. On less expensive cans, that wouldn't be a dealbreaker, but at this point this is a major oversight.-=AUDIO QUALITY=-Audio quality was quite good to excellent. Highs were crisp and clear, and the bass was surprisingly rich for cans with 40mm drivers. Mids were hit or miss, especially with noise cancellation on. Generally they were fine, but with some vocals they had a mushy, muted quality to them. The mic has excellent clarity for voice communication.-=NOISE CANCELLATION=-Active noise cancellation on the F70N's is extraordinarily good - genuinely outstanding. At its highest setting, the outside world (and situational awareness) completely disappears. Clearly Panasonic/Technics put the bulk of their R&D into its noise cancellation algorithms, and it worked.Passive noise cancellation is also pretty decent. The cans create a good seal, and significantly mute outside distractions.Audio pass through, triggered by cupping your hand over the right ear cup, works extremely well, although it can lag a little before kicking in.-=COMFORT and BUILD QUALITY=-For my large melon, these leave a little to be desired in comfort. The cups are generously padded, but just a hair too small, putting pressure on the outside ridges of my ears. The headband is definitely too sparsely padded, and could use a healthy dose of memory foam. At the lower end, this would not be a big deal, but at this price point I expect more luxurious padding.Build quality is excellent. The headphones have a solid construction, collapse easily, and feel like a premium product.-=CONTROLS=-The power and noise cancellation buttons, and the volume rocker, are easy to find by touch and work smoothly. They are well-spaced apart, and intuitive for use.-=BATTERY LIFE=-I have yet to successfully kill these headphones through regular use. I see no reason to argue with the claim of 20 hours.-=OVERALL=-The Technics EAH-F70N fall just short of perfect, and at a lower price point they would be a steal. The noise cancellation technology is extraordinarily good, and the sound quality overall is excellent. Unfortunately, at this price point, Bluetooth 5.0 is an essential, as is luxurious comfort - and these headphones lack both. Consequently, I am deducting a star from an otherwise excellent product.

2 horrible flaws
First of all, this headphones ARE NOT OVER THE EAR HEADPHONES, they are more like in the middle of over and on ear headphones like hybrid earpads. with that being said we can get to the volume part. this headphones just DONT GET LOUD ENOUGH. By no means I listen to my headphones really loud, but this headphones just seem they dont have enough power to turn the volume high. If I have to compare them the loudest they would get is like 60% of any other headphone I have owned (sony and beats). I had to return them, no surprise they went from 400 bucks to half the price with in months. plus I did some research and apparently the brother panasonic version are exactly the same for half the price the only difference is they are all plastic.

Room to improve
Great sound. Volume does not go to 11. Noise canceling is a joke.

Technics Fans Won’t Be Disappointed.
If you’re a Technics fan as am I, you won’t be disappointed. These headphones maintain the companies mission for “Delivering the Ultimate Emotive Musical Experience”. Being a flagship headphone there are many details done right. First and foremost is the sound reproduction of which has that Technics sound quality to it. Tightly integrated deep bass, a broad full midrange and a light airy high end. These headphones bring out all the nuances of your favorite recordings. The Active Noise Cancellation is very advanced. There are microphones on the exterior of the headphone as well as on the interior near the drivers. I really appreciate the low medium and high level settings. I have been wanting a pair of headphones with this feature. There are times when it is important for me to hear ambient noises in order to maintain safety and these headphones allow you to do that. And if you really need to hear ambient noises you can cover the right ear pad with your palm, and after a 1.5 second delay it will attenuate the music while amplifying the ambient sounds. You will be able to hear and communicate with people around you without removing your headphones or stopping your playback. You can take and make phone calls on these. It is surprisingly good at it too. If you have the active noise canceling turned on you will definitely notice. If it is turned off it will seem more like a normal phone call. It reminds me of using AirPods to make phone calls. The receiving end of the call tells me that it sounds completely normal to them.If you’re experiencing subpar sound with these be sure to check that your phone's or device's settings do not have an EQ adjustment turned on. On an iPhone it is under your settings app and then under the music tab. Make sure the EQ is turned off or to flat. You can turn on the volume limiting option to set a max volume level if you want to limit the max volume. I keep sound check option off but it can be turned on without compromising the sound much.On some Bluetooth speakers and headphones the volume Control on them will operate independently of the volume control on your music source device. This is most likely an earlier version of Bluetooth causing this. In these situations I find I get the best audio with the source device's volume turned all the way up and then controlling the desired volume level on the speaker or headphones. These headphones however are synchronized with your device. Adjusting the volume on one will adjust the volume on the other. Your playback device will always be sending the best quality audio to these headphones at all volume levels. The headphones come with a nice leather case, a headphone cable, a USB charging cable, and an airline adapter. They have a non-replaceable rechargeable battery. A four hour charge gives up to 20 hours of playback. The only minor gripe I have is that I wish the battery was replaceable.I have worked in the professional music industry for many years selling recording equipment as well as running sound professionally. I think these are terrific headphones for music playback and enjoyment. To me they preserve the original recordings music tonality and qualities, while adding just enough processing for added depth and spatial ambience. The sound is like that of a intimate music venue to me. I think they do an extraordinary job of providing the ultimate emotive musical experience by music lovers, for music lovers.

Not really over-the-ear headphones
These are not true over the ear headphones. The cup actually sits on my ears and the headphones compress very tightly and cause pain after awhile. It's unfortunate because I otherwise like these headphones. If they simply made the interior of the cup large enough to go over the ears, it would fix the problem.

Love it!
I wish it was a USB-C connection instead of a micro USB. It’s a phenomenal set of cans, the overall construction is superior quality and will definitely give me years of enjoyment. I realize that the new set may be an evolution to this pair but they are worth giving a chance. Definitely great product and would buy again.
