The lights worked but have not tried the outlet which is like a cigarette lighter outlet
Got it in two days in new condition. Charged it about 19 hours and then jump started my Honda CRV - 2011 which had a battery that could not even open the door locks, 80% dead I guess. Turning key did NOTHING. It was dead. After hooking up the CAT and turning the red button to the jump start position, I turned the key once and held it for about 3 or 4 cranks (2 seconds?) and it started right up solidly!! Just follow the directions exactly as the manual states. I'll have to see how well it holds the charge. I am recharging it for 24 hours since it was used to start a car. It's heavy duty and straight-forward. Does not charge the battery - just jump starts the car. Your alternator has to recharge the battery so leave your car on or drive for 15 to 20 minutes. The lights worked but have not tried the outlet which is like a cigarette lighter outlet. You need an extension cord type of electric cord to charge the unit and it is not included.

Works great until it doesn't
I ordered this in Feb 2020, It worked fantastic, lots of reserve power and very easy to use. It is very heavy but that is to be expected. But after about 6 months it wouldn't charge any longer. It has a one year warranty but shipping would cost almost half of what I paid for it. I decided to open it up and see if I could figure out the problem. The first thing I noticed is that the listing says it has a AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) internal battery. Nope! The battery is labeled "Sealed Lead-Acid Battery SEL CB21-12 (12V 21AH)". No complaints about how it works but the advertising is obviously deceitful. After some testing I found the internal battery charger was no longer producing a charging output. I verified power in, but nothing coming out. The charger is labeled "Intertek 3100397" and "Battery Charger HT7705-RP830, SEL", "Input 120V 60Hz, 0.6A", "Output 12V DC 2A". Edit: I opened the charger and it has an internal 2A fuse. I hoped that might be the problem but it was good. I traced the voltage through the full wave rectifier, zener diode and step down transformer and that was also good. But somewhere in the filtering and control section the voltage was lost. I didn't look any further because it was obvious it was bad and not worth my time. The charger is probably a $5-10 part and if CAT had sourced a more reliable part they would have had an awesome unit.

Holds a charge. Been very reliable. Old school build
Strong durable powerful. This will start anything. Heavy gauge cables and a durable serviceable Jump Box. Was an amazing go-to for over a year. Until... It got wet. Not waterproof at all. Left in the back of my truck during rainy day while I went out to service vehicles in need. Couldn't properly charge it after that. Sometimes later it was stolen anyway. I recommend this jump box. It doesn't have all that safety garb the other ones have. I don’t know why it has a 4 Star rating. I saw reviews about it not holding a charge. That’s weird because mine held a charge for months. I used it allot. It took a long time to kill it. So you must have gotten one with a defective battery. This Jump Box was very reliable. But as I said before, not waterproof! I’ll probably seal up the next one I get.

Nice unit, but only a CAT licensed name, not a CAT built product
Nice unit, though not quite as HD as expected from the CAT name, which is licensed only - CAT does not make this unit. The good - cables are 4ga, clamps have braided wire connecting both sides for added current handling, fairly light for the capacity (though it's still pretty heavy), easy to use. The not-so-good - no charging cable included (need to buy JNC350 Charging Cord or similar) or you can't use it out of the box. Battery is lighter duty than what is included in the JNC 660/770 products which to be fair are much heavier and do cost more. Overall a good value compared to most everything else of this capacity level.

A Northern Man's Best Friend.
You only get 800 amps through the best jumper cables (if you're trying to jumpstart your truck with someone's small car, then you're gonna need a prayer and time on your side), and technically this product offers 1,000 instant amps. It's very tolerant of cool weather, which is when you most often need a back-up battery when your main one craps out on you from the year round stress. My experiences using this product? When my truck died in my garage (Arctic weather really eats away at your main battery's power, so my lesson was if you're coming up with slow starts in the winter months; try logging in some more miles to charge your battery for a colder night), I tried using my car to jump start my truck with 1 Gauge cables. Initially I tried using this battery to jump start my truck, but I was getting impatient when it wouldn't pop off instantly and 15 minute cycles of waiting; so I went over to the jump cables and found out after 45 minutes I was getting more power from my back-up battery than the cables. So then I went back to the battery and let my back-up battery charge my main battery for an hour and a half. Finally popped off (barely). My estimates from that night were telling me I was getting 3 times more power from this battery than my back-up. The saddest part was I hadn't charged my back-up battery since the summer months and it was severely neglected until I actually needed it. So now this battery is getting a lot of TLC and attention. You don't really appreciate anything until you need them...

Yellow Is The New Black
** 09/21/2021 Update to 1 star review: As to my previous review below, the instructions for this leave a lot to be desired and basically without fail, every time I would see the jumper batter indicator go to yellow, when I would go to recharge it would show as green immediately. I then later tried letting it charge over 24 hours and various other means but ultimately this false charge scenario was a reoccurring theme through the life of this device and now finally, just shy of 5 years it stopped working/won't take a charge. To make a long and drawn out story short, based on charging issues/user manual contradictions in my use of the device, I cannot recommend, especially for the cost. ------------- I have a 74 GMC pickup that I put an Optima Yellow Top in to help with a problem I was (I hope it's WAS) having with something drawing current and killing the battery (I'll spare you the details). Anyway I bought this as a "just in case" and sure enough already ended up using it 4 times and all 4 times it brought my baby, a very, very cold blooded baby mind you, right back to life. Now that I should rarely need to use it we will see if it holds up and if my experience changes to a negative I'll be sure to update this review; based on my experiences thus far I definitely recommend it. The instructions regarding charging could be a little clearer and so far it doesn't seem multiple uses has changed it from green but I still keep charging it once a month for 24 hours even though it almost immediately goes to green so far. Anyway, I like things to be clear so the instructions could use a little tweaking but at least their understandable and are as basic as you would expect with this type of device.

Bulky, Big, Heavy, Durable. EXACTLY what you need to jump cars with a battery that holds its storage power. EXCELLENT
I have owned this for more than a year. Needs charging to top its off every 4 months. It is big. It is heavy. It doesn't have USB plug in and you can't plug in a laptop, BUT I have used this to jump my car (mid size SUV) and a friend's Dodge 2500 in the same evening. Lots of power. Great product.

It works, sorta.
Have been using mine for over a year now. As a locksmith it gets used quite frequently. The clamps need to be larger allowing for greater draw, the battery is also cheap when compared to DSR or JNC jump starter of similar capacity.. If you only need to use it start a vehicle and can charge it again you should be fine. If however you need to leave it on a car with a dead battery or no battery for a while for diagnostics or programming then this is not the box for you. Should they actually put heavier clamps and a better battery in it this would be an awesome box.

This jump box is amazing
This jump box is amazing. Have had mine for 3 years. As long as you charge it after use and once in a while when not using it... it will boost your vehicle... even multiple vehicles on one charge. I’ve boosted one of my vehicles multiple times with this box. I use the vehicle less than my other vehicle and so occasionally on the coldest days or after long periods of no use I need to boost the battery. It always comes back to life. Even when the battery seems completely dead... wait a few minutes with the jump box on and connected and it will bring the battery back. The CAT CJ3000 is well built/ durable and appears to be insulated from the cold with the rubber/ plastic material it’s made of. Remember like any battery don’t leave it in the cold for long periods if you don’t have to... but I have sometimes and it still works. It’s heavy... but it works really well.

Awesome!!!
This product is so reliable and easy to use. This will boost anything or buy a inverter and use it for hours of light or charging cell phones 15 times or more. I liked it so much I bought 2 more.

3/4 DO NOT WORK. YOU'LL HAVE TO FIGHT FOR REFUND
Purchased on in 2020 that was great for years. We needed another one, we tried 2 from amazon that didn't work, Amazon doesn't do refund on this product so good luck. I was able to get a replacement from the manufacturer, Baccus Global, it is also completely non functioning, so 3 that never accepted a charge from brand new. They changed something in the production over the years, upped the price and it is now a horrible product.

It would have been better if there was usb slot for charging gadgets
It would have been better if there was usb slot for charging gadgets. In fairness it looks like it will last a long time bec. of its solid apperance. I havent used it yet for boosting any of my vehicles but i think it would perform well.
