Deeper grooves on 2 sides, better than Dewalt!
originally bought the Dewalt package, which is really, really hard steel & it snapped in the hole. Now this is a really small screw in a lawnmower, holding the transformer in place that sparks the spark plug as the magnets float by, so I couldn't go bigger. Used a grinder to make an [X] on top center of hole & titanium impact bits from Harbor Freight to cut the initial hole & break bit.The larger grooves & some PB blaster, allowed the metals to collect as I turned the new tap, so I could screw unscrew, blow out/wipe & repeat, until the hole was clear for a new screw to go in.Dewalt's pack, just didn't have deep enough grooves for the metals & snapped when I was unscrewing, which was likely my fault. But this bit allowed me to go deeper, so it was quicker & a better choice for my project.

Doesnโt break
I got this tiny tap for a rail for a wireless hole puncher. It worked great. Tapped the threads cleanly and ejected the chips as desired. It didnโt break and seems more durable than any other tap this small. Overall great product.

Worked for me
I bought this to change the threads for a picatinny rail on a shotgun. It worked on the three holes I did.

Tip broke
I am a machinist and I know what the small taps can take. The tip broke very easily but then I was able to grind the end flat and then it still cut threads

Exceptional Quality, Clean Cuts, and Excellent Durability
This Drill America 1/4"-28 HSS tap/drill exceeded expectations. The cutting edges were sharp out of the box and produced clean, consistent threads without chatter or binding. The steel feels high quality, held its edge well, and showed no signs of wear after use. Easy to work with and very durable compared to cheaper alternatives. Overall, this feels like a professional-grade tool at a fair price. Would confidently buy again.

Low quality
Broke on the tip in three turns tapping cast iron, absolute junk! Do not use on anything harder than A36 as this is a low quality HSS

Buy one if you hand-tap metal!
I heard about hand-tapping with the taper-tip taps on Youtube. I was skeptical, but as the author didn't seem to be promoting any particular product, just the style, I decided to give one a try.I bought one in 1/4"-20 tpi, as that's what I use most often. I figures it was worth less than $10 for the experiment.I've been hand-tapping holes in steel, stainless steel, aluminum and brass for many years, and this thing blew my mind! My first thought was that I'd drilled the hole with a bit that was too large, as the tap went through over an inch of pure aluminum with almost no effort--I never had to back it out to "break the chip" at all. I checked and the bit was the right one!Now I need an entire set.

Works well
Goes through aluminum and brass quickly and straight.

Decent Quality
The tap does its job, which is cutting threads. I've only tapped 2 holes with it and seems to have held up fine, no visible wear. Good enough for the price. Have definitely used better quality taps.

This tap appears to made from fairly soft metal
Not at all satisfied. The 1st time I used this tap it snapped off after cutting 4 threads. The return/exchange window closed on July16, so I use the tap on July 19 and it breaks. I am now out of pocket for a defective and broken tool. I would appreciate receiving a refund or replacement.

One of the Best
This was one of the best taps I've ever used. I own a small business and needed some taps to manufacture some parts. I decided to get some new taps because the mastercraft I had were not threading very nicely. The three flutes and high quality build made it a breeze to tap around 80 holes. Well worth the price and I will definitely get more drill america taps in the future.
