This is a replacement for a previous model. Don't know use of included plastic disc, no instructions included. Previous model suction cup sticky substance slowly melted over time while attached to dash, and then ultimately failed requiring replacement two years after original purchase. No design change here, expect same performance. The square magnet screw back also broke away over time and no steady hold. $20 for 2 years is not completely unreasonable.

The media could not be loaded.  I got the first edition of this product a few years ago and it lasted well. By the end of its life, the bottom was melting and so I wanted to get the same kind since it lasted me almost 4 years the first time.A lot of improvements to this version like a plate for the suction cup and a steadier arm to hold up the phone. After several uses now it has become apparent that the hinge tightening mechanism is faulty. Not sure if this is a design error or a fluke. But now every time I put my phone on the magnet, my phone faces down and ends up falling. I just can’t get the hung to fully tighten so that I can actually get it to work. I’m pretty frustrated as now it is past the return date and I need a new one.It is most frustrating and dangerous while driving because of the vibrations that come along with driving. I included a video of barely touching the phone to try and duplicate this experience. No matter how many times we try to tighten it always ends up loose like this

Alright so I have been a fan of Wizgear for the last 2 cars buying now my third and recommending it to friends. I currently have a Mazda 3 (Small Car) and only place I felt happy is my window. I live in the Southeast so I was excited to see the Adhesion to the glass option. (Really only one on this model) After using the AC one in my previous car due to a good place to keep it I still recommend that one if you have the AC vent you do not care about. However, the second one I bought after tightening the screws the first time I put it on (not a problem I had with the one that lost its adhesion due to the high humidity I live in doesn't matter what brand it will not stick) it fell off. Decided to move on and try an extremely expensive Ram that so far I enjoy.

Would be nice if it included instructions for what to do with the giant plastic circle. At any rate, it seems fine but the knob keeps coming loose and the phone drops down a few notches. Maybe the notches aren’t sharp/deep enough? But I have to raise it back up and re-tighten the knob every couple of days. I never had to do this with the old style. Was tempted to return it and ask for the old one, but so far nothing has actually fallen off, so I will live with it. The old one gets 5 stars. Only 4 for this one.Update: Adhered plastic circle to dash then suctioned product to it. Adhesive gave out after a few weeks. Suction on dash is better. Knobs still failing a couple times per trip. Just can’t get them to stay tightened. I am changing my stars to 3. Prefer old model.

I will not know how useful it will be, the thing keep falling off my dash board right after I put it on, the sticky base and the suction mechanism simply did not work. I did clean the dashboard first with alcohol swap, waited until it dry and made sure no dust, tried on the mirror same thing happened. I tried look up youtube to get instruction in case I was doing something wrong because it worked for so many people here. Sadly will have to return.

This is my third item from this brand. They've all been great. The magnets are very powerful. My iPhone 7 plus never slips even over big bumps. Suction cups work great on the windshield too. Seriously, I can't believe I didn't purchase these earlier! So much better (and safer) having your phone closer to eye level instead of looking down or holding your phone when you're using things like navigation.

Even better than the previous version this is my 3rd and will be the next one as needed2021-08-17 Update, with this in the original position, I spent 7 days offshore leaving this in my vehicle in the full sun here in the summertime Deep South. This just stayed on my windshield I was amazed no other device i have owned has managed to say on the windshield in the hot sun day after day.

I was excited about this product when I first put it in the car, but after one afternoon in the Texas heat it seems the heat warped the slide arm. The slide arm no longer extends.

This is definitely a strong and convenient holder for the phone or small tablet in the car. But the problem with inserting a metal plate in the rear cover of the phone is that it blocks the wireless charging function so you end up having to either removing the metal plate each time you want to charge the phone wirelessly or to charge using the wire. I think this will probably also affect the wireless mode of payment (eg. Samsung Pay) because of the metal. So I guess the user will have to decide which convenience to give up. If you are not someone who prefers the wireless mode, then this holder is great. But it's infortunately not for me because of the reasons I mentioned.
