Scare yourself with this score!
I haven't played Bloodborne and I don't even own an Xbox One or PS4 yet. I am still enjoying all of the games that the older systems still offer. I do like soundtracks however and the music used to support the action/story in video games can be equivalent to or even better than some blockbuster movies. Some of my most treasured and listened to scores come from video games and when big titles come out I am always there to check out the music. Bloodborne has certainly been met with a lot anticipation from the video game world. I am not sure if the game has meet those expectations but the score is definitely a big hit with me.The score was composed by in house artist from the company who developed the game, "From Software". They are Tsukas Saitoh, Yuka kitamura, and Nobuyoshi Suzaki. Cris Velasco also worked on the score but unfortunately his work is not included on the CD release. There are also two guest composers who worked on the score and they are Ryan Amon and Michael Wandmacher. There is a digital release that can be found on iTunes that includes Cris Velasco's contributions, as well as, other tracks by Amon and Wandmacher that were not released on this CD. I think there is a total of four extra songs on the digital version but you'll have to pay for it. The digital release is priced quite high for these additional songs and the Amazon CD release is a lot cheaper. The missing songs are: "Terror" (Cris Velasco), Amygdala (Cris Velasco), "of the Pthumerian Line" (Michael Wandmacher), and "Lullaby for Mergo" (Ryan Amon). The composers that I am most familiar with on this project are Ryan Amon and Michael Wandmacher. Ryan Amon composed the music for the film "Elysium" and did an outstanding job for that movie. Michael Wandmacher did the music for "Piranha 3D" and "Punisher". The "Punisher" soundtrack is just awesome and it still is one of my most played soundtracks. What brought my attention to this particular video game score was sampling the first track entitled, "Omen". This track is a great introduction to the score and pretty much establishes the tone for the entire work as a whole. What amazes me is that while you have so many different artist working on the same score, they have managed to remain consistent throughout the entire thing. There are no major stylist differences that sound out of place. You'd never know it was put together by so many. The tone and style of the score is very epic horror. It is a big sound filled with a real orchestra and choir. The orchestra, in fact, is a 65 piece ensemble with a 32 piece choir. I did an internet search to learn more about these talented musicians/vocalist and found a really cool video of a recording session. Check out the bald guy in the white t-shirt rocking out with that cello! He is definitely getting into the music and it's easy to hear why. The soundtrack is amazing. It's incredibly big and lumbers at times like a giant smashing through the woods. It also becomes quite spiritual (in a creepy way) at times and featured vocalist, Melissa Reese, does a great job singing melodies that will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Tracks like "Cleric Beast" by Tsukasa Saitoh remind me of a classic requiem infused with horror while others like "Moonlight Melody" by Ryan Amon are hauntingly beautiful and yet sad. It's a great score to listen to but don't expect too many slow reflective moments. It's all about action of the horror kind and this haunted house score on steroids isn't going to let you close your eyes for long. The score is 1 hour and 12 minutes and contains 21 tracks. The CD insert is a six paneled trifold that contains information about the artist, song list, and two pictures from the game. I wish it had included more art work and a list of the musicians/vocalist. The vocalist are listed as "Metro Voices" but there isn't any title for the orchestra. It's a great soundtrack with some powerhouse horror moments captured here for you to enjoy. The composers have certainly done an excellent job at collaborating together on this project and I highly recommend this fantastic music!

The dark soundtrack of a nightmarish dream
This is by far one of the most beautiful and haunting soundtracks I have heard in gaming. (tbh I not heard alot LOL) But this music......It just sets you in the mood.......the mood to hunt the night! When I first listened to it I had bought it off PSN on my PS4 and fell in love with it. The opening with the female voice humming is so beautiful yet dark at the same time. It makes you feel like your being lured by a beautiful siren out into the sea only to enter the fog and darkness to never return. That is the feeling I got from this soundtrack. You feel the games dark atmosphere with each note of the music it's like a dark twisted lullaby that wishes to embrace you in a dream and never let you go.....never let you awaken from the nightmare!!! And I honestly believe that is what they were going with when they made this soundtrack. I loved this so much I had to double dip I am proud owner of both the physical and the digital soundtracks and I couldn't be happier about that. Thanks for reading good hunter and may the good blood guide your way!!!

Absolutely stunning soundtrack from Sony and From Software to this already amazing game. The music is intense and dripping with atmosphere, it definitely suits the Gothic/Victorian art direction featured in the game. The Bloodborne soundtrack is well-recorded and mixed nicely, great overall sound quality. This release is missing few tracks compared to special 2-disc edition but it is otherwise jam packed with quality music. If you are a fan of this game or interested in an evocative and exciting score give this a listen, well worth the time.

A beautiful, haunting piece of perfection that matches the game perfectly.
This is a beautiful soundtrack. When I first heard the preview on YouTube with their behind-the-scenes look, I was sold. After playing the game, I have to say it matches perfectly to the brooding, dark, and mysterious atmosphere the game presents. The soundtrack is visceral, and filled with horror and dread through the hard and heavy boss fight songs. Yet, it can also span the calm and melancholic with the tracks of the safer areas of the game like the Hunter's Sanctuary. It's haunting, dark, and wonderful to listen to even when not playing the game. Through and through, it's probably one of my favorite soundtracks in the past while. I love it.

Amazing score - creepy most of the time, heart-pounding in a lot of places.
What can I say, FROM Software really stepped it up in terms of the cinematic experience with this little piece of gem!As a long time "Souls" fan, Bloodborne had to be the best new take on the series, doing away with the shields and forcing you to play as a bad-ass "Hunter".Speaking of which, The music "The Hunter" stands out the most. The freakin' awesome heart-pounding experience I'd had with the fight against one of the earlier bosses.Absolutely love it.

Warning: This is an imported disc & won't play in all CD players.
Warning: This is an imported disc & won't play in all CD players! At the time of this review, this is by far the best deal for this album. Its almost 50% less than any digital copies & if you plan to rip the tracks this is still the way to go. That said, the CD player in my car won't recognize it (2004 VW Jetta) & I doubt I'm the only one with this problem. Also, if you want the last few tracks from expensive 2-Disc version; they are available as digital copies in The Old Hunters' DLC Soundtrack for under $5 on most sites. Hope this helps. Killer Soundtrack BTW...

I cannot say I like the soundtrack as much as the game
Bloodborne's soundtrack makes for soothing listening.I cannot say I like the soundtrack as much as the game, but I believe enthusiasts of the game will derive much enjoyment from this. The version I got is a 2 disc set. It does not have additional tracks from The Old Hunters.
