Reader Rabbit Reading Ages 4-6 [OLD VERSION]

We ordered this for our four year old daughter and, while it is probably a bit above her level (she is not reading yet but is beginning to sound out letters, etc. and when we read to her she will point out letters that she recognizes...but has not yet begun to recognize entire words), it is a wonderful program!It allows you to choose at which level you want to begin, or play. The characters are interesting and their speech is well enunciated. The content is entirely age appropriate and innocent - which is rare in this day and age.The directions are very clear and I imagine if I set aside time every day to use this program, our daughter will be reading by age five.We own other Reader Rabbit CDs and they are all wonderful...I would strongly recommend these products for children ages three to six.

This is more for a kid going into Kindergarten or first grade readers. It is very repetitive and is ok...

My grandkids didn't enjoy this much, not sure why... maybe just because I couldn't explain how to use it.

The software requirements do not indicate that the software will not actually work with operating systems that we all use today. I tried to install this on my Mac OS X and on Windows 7. Neither one worked, the publisher's websites have no commentary, fixes or support for this issue. Not sure why anyone would actually sell this product but unless you are using a 5 year old computer don't bother.

I have a 3 yr old that is really starting to excel at her reading because of this product. She's been capable for several months, but lacked the discipline to follow through on other methods.

good price and good product

My almost 5 year old blasted through this program in two days. It's wasn't very engaging or difficult. I've since bought The Reading Lesson workbook and we're getting amazing results.

2 of the 4 products I purchased would not even load onto the computer. very unhappy and will not buy from this company again!!
