Amazing Picture Quality for both Blu-Ray and DVD's
We are truly amazed at the picture quality of both Blu-Ray and regular DVD's.The set up was very easy. Since we own a Samsung television we intentionally wanted a Samsung Blu-Ray player to be compatible. These are definitely comparable. The Blu-ray's remote works for the television as well. One of the functions about the player that I find both amusing and delightful is once a disc is inserted into the tray and the drawer closed, the television activates and selects the appropriate ancillary device. Nice. The controls are mounted on the top right corner of the case. It will take a little getting used to, but that's happens with any new piece of equipment. One thing I found to be odd on the remote was that the the chapter forward and reverse functions are together as are the FF and rewind keys. Again, just a little getting used to.We are very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it to other owners of new Samsung televisions.(For the record, I have not used, not do I care to use, the Netflix option from the player as it is set up on the television's Smart Hub.Also, I specifically bought the Wi-Fi capable specifically for the periodic updates players seem to need, not for Netflix, etc., usage.)

I have a new 55" Samsung Smart TV, so I picked up this unit to have similar capabilities with a 39" samsung non smart LED tvOut of the box, it is a simple compact system.Came with an HDMI cable, remote, batts and literature.Setup was a breeze, the some menu walked me through everything up to networking. The Remote allow me to turn the BR and TV off and on ( I have not investigated to do simultaniously), but two quick button pushes.Image looks good on the 39" Samsung,Menus are easy to navigate (not as busy as the newer Samsung TV's)Pros;Pricepoint, Size and picture quality, works with DNLA (takes a minute or so for the BR populate the network devises)Cons,Not as many apps as the newer smart tv's, and I did not find a web browser app for it either.I had to convert all of my DLNA server files to MP4 for them to work, even though my other smart plays AVI. No big deal. The main purpose for this unit was for my kids rec room, and it does everything that I wanted.

Get something else!
Tried using Samsung to replace other electronics that we were unhappy with. Purchased a Samsung TV along with a DVD players. Samsung electronics have proven to be annoyingly unreliable. DVD player capabilities have been fine, if you can get the friggin thing to turn on. Internet connection and wiring/sound issues continue to plague me. Customer service is mildly helpful, but I feel like I've wasted more time calling than trying to figure things out myself. Definitely a cheap option, but it'll cost you more in anger and impatience down the line. If you can afford it, grab a Sony. I am unhappy with the TV as well as both DVD players I own and I haven't even owned any of them for a year. Lesson learned.

Great price for a player that looked new and goes for twice the price. I love the WIFI, 1080p up-conversion and digital audio features. Don't hesitate to enhance your media room with products from this seller.

4 year life
The player was used mostly to run regular dvds and occasional blu ray rentals. It stopped working with dvds about half the time after 4 years. My Sony lasted 20 years so clearly there is some product reliability issue.
