It is effective in letting most water drain into sink. A small amount of water does remain on drain board but there is no significant calcium build-up after a few weeks of use.

Love it. I bought 5 of them. No water build up.it just drains in sink.can't get them in stores no longer.

I am presently using it to drain off the water into the sink.
