Works
Works as intended. I heard this was the best programming cable so figured I would give it a shot. It did its job.

It works on Baofeng, Radtel and Tidradio
I use Chirp a lot. This cable works without fail. I know it has alternatives for other radios. I don't have those. I only have those, a a digital DR-1701 Baofeng. It does not work on that one.

If your cable does not sit flat, you need to cut the plastic until it does
I have a Baofeng GT-3TP. The cable wouldn't work regardless of the CHIRP settings I applied. I noticed that the cable did not sit flat when connected to the radio since there is plastic on the cable that is in the way. So, I took a sharp razor and carefully shaved off this plastic. Then it was able to sit flat, and the cable immediately worked. Look at the connection in the attached image. See how the black plastic of the cable does not touch the radio above the connection? That's because I had to shave it off.

Perfect programming cable
Needed to program a radio. This set does a lot more than I need, but the parts I needed worked perfectly.

Universal Radio Programming Cable Kit Works Great
So far, I have tried this cable kit with my Yaesu and the Baofengs. I have several Baofengs. One of them uses the 2-pronged k-plug connector. The other is the waterproof type connector for my UV-9G. All the adapters have thus far worked with Chirp. If I had other radios that used the other types of connectors, I am sure they will work. Mirikit in general sells good things.I am running Windows 10. It did not block me from using this cable. This is a HUGE problem. Microsoft, FTDI, and Prolific in their infinite "wisdom", decided to punish honest people for using counterfeit chips. How are we the consumer supposed to know that they were counterfeit chips? This cable will save you the hassle of wondering if that particularly low-cost cable you bought contains a genuine chipset.

looks good physically but unfortunately -did not work
the cable itself looks nicely made physically but it failed where it mattered. Connected to my laptop, got chirp, connected my radio...but the wire refused transmit/receive. It was advertised as plug and play but was not. I have a lenovo running on latest version of windows so nothing missing on my end. Did some research and found posts on forums saying that i might be missing the driver for the ftdi chip...i did not want to mess around much on my laptop, bought it recently for 2 grand and did not want to put in any download which was not 100% trustworthy. Tried and tried the next day and then gave up and sent the cable back as it was not worth my time to go on struggling to try and make it work.

A great addition to my Ham Radio Equipment
Have three different brands of handhelds and Win 11, Win10 and Linux machines.Using chirp have had no problems as long as you read the chirp instructions.
