Similar to another buyer, I can not remove the bit from the drill. I have gently pulled the chuck towards the drill but the bit will not budge?

I believe so. Doesn't have a long charge.

How long does a charge last?

It seems to hold it's charge quite well. The only issue I have with it is that the trigger is not variable so it is just on or off and it goes fairly fast.
