This is the weld it yourself package. If you have the skills it's not difficult and saves some money. As for the quality of the product. I've easily done 90 degree breaks on 3/16" steel. Haven't had the need for doing anything thicker, but it handled that with ease. So I have no doubts as to the capabilities of this unit. I did pair it with a Torin 20 ton air/hydraulic jack which makes for an excellent setup. When welding the threaded rod sections into the steel tubes used for the stop I found that if you set them up into their position with the nuts and clamp everything down to your welding table with the stop supports square and true to the lower die section you will have a straight and true stop guide. Review: Would be better with four way on bottom - Why not use a 4 way for bottom.

Why not use a 4 way for bottom.

If your a experenced welder, the kit is a good way to save a few bucks

Ok part
The parts provided for fabrication were ok. The laser cut parts were really dirty. They should have been run through a tumbler. The machine work on the top die holder and clamp bar was excellent and fit very well. My biggest complaint was following the weld instructions provided. The lower V die should be stitched welded, not full weld. There’s no need to have that much weld, just stitch it and forget it. You WILL NEED to press flat if you full weld this angle iron in place.

Amazing tool for the price!!!
If you own a welder buy this brake. The brake is an essential tool for metal working and this is the perfect way to bend metal at home cheaply. I took it to work (fab shop) and had it together in 30 minutes. Worked first time exactly as it should no messing around.

Wouldn’t buy again.
I bought this sheet metal brake a few years ago and I’m not impressed for the money spent. It’s more of a pos. If you making a brake over six inches it’ll be off by at least 5-8 degrees and that’s a problem when you try to fit something together. Maybe this is just My experience but I’m not very satisfied with the end result.
